I'm guessing Robertson is just a 'cheap' stop gap. Decent young player, nothing spectacular and having VVD next to him instead of Lovren will help massively.

Salah might do seeing we ****ed that up 3 years ago. VVD is not. Rogers claimed "someone" told him VVD was not for him when he was moving from celtic to southampton.

Just read what you wrote above in BOLD back. you just admitted we are not getting a real LB. We are on the cheap so how the part in RED will occur is just beyond even caling it a fantasy at this point.

Jsut stop this now jimmy you are digging a huge hole for yourself.

I'm only trying to stop you digging such a hole you won't be able to get out of it.

there's going to be a lot of very disappointed lads on sept 1. But i will be there to remind everyone it's never as bad as it seems.

e.g

astro 50mil net spend... a hedged bet if you ever saw one given half on here seem to expect 100il net spend or something. This 50mil is just one or two players max so seemed reasonable but is now even in question.

I need you to join me in the hole ... please enter my hole and we will dig ourselves out together.

We've already strengthened our attack with Salah, and I presume Keita will kick up a fuss with Leipzig, and VVD is pretty much done once Soton sign someone like Gibson or Chambers.

It will be a brilliant summer because we are massively upgrading 3 positions with Salah, Keita and VVD, and a decent stop gap with Robertson.

I'm still hoping for a couple more to help beef up the squad.

I'd say Yes for sure. VVD would help out Robertson if needed and we could always address in winter window if required.

Plus Milner without burnout can do a decent enough job.
