Understand Southampton have accepted Liverpool's apology over their attempt to sign Virgil van Dijk. Now unlikely PL will take any action

Apology accepted in full, Southampton request no action from the PL, open to official offers for any of their players

Didn't stop Suarez from having the season of his life.

He was on 120k at liverpool and is now on 240k at Barca (not to mention the tax rate difference).

no but do you not think its funny that he's now never bitten anyone or had any real incidents since?

It seems he bit a guy to get out of ajax. tried it once with LFc failed and tried again.. bit mad i'd admit.

the other fact is suarez was paid 180k per week to stay at LFC for that 12 months and it was not real or barca knocking at 40mil +1... was it?

he was not on 120k. he was on 180k :)

you have ignored the fact that vvd is on 65k and southampton have not offered him another higher deal have they?

Ha I don't think it's as easy at that. But I do think it's all PR and we will get this sorted soon.

Anyone fancy a bet, odds for him joining us are 3/1 which is great value.

Sorry for asking this but I haven't been following the VVD thing at all - did we tap him up?

no more than anyone else does.

I just don't believe they met in Blackpool.. its obvious however southampton forced a grovelling apology out of us so there must have been something.

Maybe an approach directly to the player? If he didn't leak anything himself, a bit silly of the club to apologise which amounts to admitting they did something wrong. Should have kept quiet. I guess if VVD wants to come to us still then he'll have to put in a transfer request to force it through.

It has to be a direct meeting that's prove bale where offers were made.

a phone call to his agent is not enough.

I read some ridiculous thing that we flew the guy to blackpool of all places so klopp and Virgil could ride the dodgems and then they ere messaging regularly.

Its like milk on craigslist <laugh>

It is SO ridiculous sounding it probably happened.

somehow i think it was whoever said he's chosen LFC that really pissed off the saints cos they were talking to city and city pulled out a day or so before

All adds to the drama I suppose. Hope we're not [HASHTAG]#doinganeverton[/HASHTAG] - going for players we know we can't get but can say to the fans 'look we tried....''

I do not think Southampton are under pressure to sell.Their balance sheet is good, as they always make profits on sale of their players especially to Liverpool.

Matt Le Tissier says Southampton would be "foolish" not to sell us Van Dijk
Indeed they would, seeing as they now have you by the balls in terms of asking price.
<laugh>

no it's their right.

and if player chooses to go there fine.

If southampton do it and we don't match the bid and then sue them i will be upset.

why?

simple it would be unfair and illegal to force hmim to go somewhere he doesn;t want to and would be illegal to refuse sale at same price :)

I'd love a good law suit just to spice things up

You must be on the wind up <laugh>

What utter utter horseshit

Wouldnt be illegal at all. Clubs can accept and reject what ever they want. If united and Barcelona offered us £70m for Suarez we'd have rejected one and accepted the other.

Astro is absolutely fizzing <laugh> <diva>
He's a strange one for sure.
Astroball, which is the sport he watches, has a completely different set of rules to the well known sport of football.
For instance in Astroball, the team who got the least amount of bookings, rather than the most goals, is the winner.
So the main aim of Astroball is to try get as many opposition players booked or sent off as you can.

If the game ends with 22 men on the pitch then its a dismal failure.
Apparently in Astroball as well, if you get caught tapping up a player and another club threatens to report you to the authorities if you don't approach the player as per the normal rules, then you have schooled them.......in what, I don't know. But Liverpool win....in every aspect, Liverpool win....thats the main fundamental rule surrounding Astroball, LFC are infallible and blameless of everything, and they always come out the winner, in a moral, legal, sporting and financial sense <ok>
