"Liverpool have tabled an offer of £24.5million for Shakhtar Donetsk's Brazilian attacker Alex Teixeira.
Reds chief executive Ian Ayre missed Wednesday night's FA Cup replay win over Exeter City after flying to Florida to hold negotiations with the Ukrainian club.
Shakhtar are currently at a winter training camp in the States and Teixeira was left out of the squad for their midweek friendly with Corinthians.

I think he's a tidy player and would like for him to stay - the problem is, we have Coutinho and Firmino in the same position.
