  1. Not just cheap, he also counts as one of the homegrown players too.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, after his agent admitted that a January move isn’t on the cards for his client.

However, a move to Liverpool in the summer wasn't beyond the realms of possibility.

"It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title," his agent Viktor Kolar told Czech newspaper Sport.

"Liverpool need to strengthen their position in goal and they know Petr will be available in the summer.

"We’ve been in contact with Real Madrid but they don’t need a keeper just now. But we will discuss it again in March."

  3. So basically, if they can't find anyone else willing to sign him and Liverpool still need a keeper come the summer, game on?

Chris Bascombe has reported that up to 10 defenders could go next summer.

Sakho most likely to be sold if suitable offer comes in.

Wisdom and Ilori on that list, along with Flanno.

No idea who that is..? Best not be true though. Flanno is the best RB at the club while Sakho is potentially the best CB.

He works for the Telegraph and he's Liverpool based. One of the more reliable journos along with Barrett (The Times) and Dom King (Daily Mail).

So there will be an element of truth in what he's saying.

I wouldn't say Flanno is the best right back at the club but I still think he's a useful member of the team. Players like Wisdom and Ilori have a lot of potential so getting rid of them would be madness. Getting rid of Sakho would be a massive mistake IMO.

The best bit of the article is that Skrtel's future is in doubt.

  7. Johnson
    Wisdom
    Flanno
    Ilori
    Coates
    Skrtel
    Toure
    Lovren
    Sakho
    Enrique
    Moreno
    Robinson

Have i missed anyone? If not, that's twelve right there and doesn't include the on loan Mankiller.

I'd bet that the ten includes youngsters.

    Lovren wasn't in the list.

Will try and find the article.

  9. Just listing our defenders. I can't see ten of those going. About four are certainties with two or three other possibilities.

Jones, Toure, Johnson and Flanagan are free agents in the summer.

    Migs is almost certainly off.

Skrtel has 18 months left on his contract and there has been no approach by LFC to extending it.

Sakho and Enrique likely to be sold if suitable offer comes in.

Coates, Wisdom, Ilori and Manquillo have uncertain futures also.

So we'll have a defence of...

No RB, Lovren, No CB, Moreno <laugh>

Oh, and Flanno signed a new long term contract in the summer... or it as at least talked about.. and talked about a lot by Rodgers?

  12. Was about to point that out. Because of that, I call BS on the whole article because he clearly doesn't have a clue :)

Edit: just done a quick search and can't find confirmation of signing a new deal. Both Flanno/his agent and the club have said they were close to a deal around august time.

Bascombe is usually safe in that he doesn't post absurd rumours and goes with the ones the majority agree upon. Our defense is ****, most rumours are about us wanting new defenders/goalkeepers/coaches so pretty obvious to go with that. 10's a nice big eye catching number.

It'll be lots of youngsters and 4/5 first teamers which isn't good because wholesale changes evidently don't work.

Brilliant next season we'll have a squad of 14 players then, with no GK <diva>.

Get Flanno signed up, forget selling Sakho, Migs needs to be number 2 next season, Give Illori, Mankiller and Wisdom (and Ibe) a chance.

Sell Coates, Borini and Lovren. Enrique can go if a good offer agree with that. Johnson & Jones may leave (please leave). Toure, depends on what comes in.

Yeah was thinking the same but it's true - not signed a contract. Probably because he's sh*t :p

I really don't see the benefit of selling Ilori and Wisdom - both players are young and talented, and at the very least can provide good back up in the short run.

We have seen the mess that to many changes in one go can make. Now I want 4-6 maximum in and out each summer.

Rumours today suggest Rodgers has had enough of Moreno and wants him out at the end of the season. Personally i think Moreno is a cracking signing.

If this is true, does Rodgers have no toleration of character?

I don't think it is down to the number of changes. It's more down to the personnel we're signing.

We've signed a lot of players but Rodgers starts with the likes of Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Enrique.

At the end of the day - he was the one who wanted to spend big money on Lallana and Lovren who would come into the first team. They have failed spectacularly in that respect. If we had signed someone like Scharr, Howedes etc and Shaqiri or Firmino - then I genuinely believe we would be in a better position.

Rodgers doesn't have a clue on defending in terms of setting them up and the players to use.

    He clearly has his favourites.
