All Spanish contracts must have a clause by law. It's quite common. Whatever we have done here is unknown but you'd have to suspect we have not attempted to trigger it That fee ought to be no issue to the club if this is slots first choice and needed player. If the player doesn't want to come then is a repeat of the same.basic errors from last season by new faces.
From bits and pieces that I've read it seems the player doesn't want to leave RS. He has a buy out clause which is unlikely to ever be triggered because he just doesn't want to leave. Had Klopp been involved, we wouldn't have been waiting for the player to make his mind up which, by all accounts, is what's been happening. I think we gave him a cut off date of today, so at least it's been adhered to and we can move on.
According to the BBC, we were told "unequovically" that he wanted to leave this summer, but Sociedad have now convinced him to stay. We move on. Though it also says that we're unlikely to move for anyone else in that position at this stage.
2 years without a proper DM No signings this summer, why are employing a bunch of asshats to do nothing?
Sounds like a week or two ago he’s given his word that he wanted to join. Makes sense we therefore weren’t looking elsewhere. For whatever reason, he’s now decided to stay, not much we can do about that. As always rather wait and get the right players then panic. We have enough midfielders in the squad. It seems we wanted that 6 that would break up play but be brilliant in the ball. Hard to find. Endo breaks up well but is limited on the ball, especially on the half turn. Gravenverch obviously very good on the ball but not so good in the tackle but he’s young, a chance to develop that. Or which I hope, it’s time for Bajcetic to shine. The kid is good in the twckle, has that nip to get into interceptions and is brilliant on the ball, especially on the half turn. Very Thiago like. Stays injury free and he might save us £50m.
Modern day fans for you; want everything yesterday and sulk like a bitch when they can't have the lollipop they wanted (despite not even knowing that flavour even existed until mummy told them five seconds earlier)
Zub the messer it was obvious that he wasn’t going to leave there a few days ago…..now we need to find an alternative and it won’t be cheap. If we go with what we have, it won’t end well for us imo, this role is pivotal to how we are going to play.
It's a position we've been trying to recruit in for 2 seasons, one goes to Chelsea and one says no which is fine under the circumstances but I'd expect the club to have alternatives.
It's actually fine thst one went to real.amd one/two went to Chelsea amd believe.ot or not none of them would really suit what slot wants We did ok without them for klopp but maybe could have won something more obviously. Right now my opinion is gravenberch amd macallister are the only two thst suits this style. Jone imo will be a leaking sieve of goals as he doesn't see the danger of being loose with the ball back there. He'd be alight aside from that glaring issue. Endo I am afraid is about as useful as an inflatable dart board to slot. Maybe this will force slot together bajcetic up.to speed. I think we got one report of unlikely.to go elsewhere (I didn't see where it came.from, did anyone) and have assumed this is like under klopp. Let's give slot and Hughes till the end of window to see what they actually do.
Yes I agree. You have to be able to move and turn and pass quickly.to play this role and thinking and wishing Endo can fill.in is going to end in disappointment I really think we are going to go gravenberch amd macca
Feel a bit sorry for Slot. Coming in after Klopp was a massive task. A couple of exciting signings would have helped get some fans on his side. Hughes and Edwards not coming across great at the moment with no signings so far. As it stands at the moment 3 of our best players are potentially leaving for free next summer. Its going to be an interesting couple of weeks
Not the greatest transfer window of all time. Slot must be privately fuming, given that we all knew the 6 role would be critical to how he wants to play….i wonder if we’ll now sign Rabiot as a CM alternative option….i believe he’s played there in the past. I would not like the signing tbh and would be no better then what we’ve already got but the rumours last week were pointing that way.
Some outlets are calling it a release clause but it isn't, otherwise it could be triggered and the club would have to abide by it, if the player wants the move. It's a buyout clause which means he has to buyout his own contract. Obviously how it works is the buying club give him the money but in essence he has to buyout his own contract. It can't be both a release clause and a buyout clause.
