You would think Slot would want to see him in training before giving him a new role.

(You're probably not too happy about the tweet)

I agree on ignoring transfer rumours. I thought this tweet was a little different because it's from the player himself. He has no need to make us think he's staying, especially so early on, if he's up for negotiating a move away.I don't tend believe anything we read mate, especially when it comes to transfers; either being genuine or playing mind games but both give the same comments.
PS... Screenshot is easiest![]()
I don't think Salah feels ready to be put out to grass just yet, but of course the longer he leaves it the less he'll be worth both in transfer value and the wage he can demand.I don’t think Salah wants to leave. He’s never really indicated he wants to leave so makes sense.
To be honest in his situation he’s probably fully relaxed.
No rush to do anything. If lfc really want to keep him they’ll thrash out a new deal but he knows that if they don’t then he can stay for a year and leave on a free and will 100% get a nice contract in Saudi as a minimum unless another European club want him of which I imagine will be a few.
If he leaves I doubt it’ll be Salah pushing it this summer. Will more than likely be lfc saying look if we get an offer let’s discuss it and see if it suits all 3 parties but we’re also not gonna push you out the door

Can they afford him, now that there's a lot more scrutiny on club finances?I honestly believe we will start hearing stories about Newcastle shortly.
Why? I honestly think he doesn't want to leave England and best schools etc but he would have no issue being their show boy in England playing for their show club.
We need to see that it's.not just 50 mul or a free to Saudi at the end of this. He could be in newcastle and what would be feel about that?

Slot has only been a manager for 7 years. He will be relishing managing Salah, (not just him, obviously). If Salah is true to that tweet then it'll be up to Slot to either go with him in his current position or move him into a CF position. See how that goes and if Salah's form improves, then I can't see him being dropped. Time will tell on whether this season was a blip or whether it's Salah's new level. If it's his new level then he becomes a squad player. He's not going to say he wants out either though, he'll want his loyalty bonus. However, this was a tweet rather than interview so wasn't forced into saying anything.
I like Salah but he's not what he was anymore. Least it won't be Klopp managing him though; Jürgen's weakness is loyalty

They've hardly set the world alight since their takeover and haven't done much that would attract inward investment. Unlike City, who got away with it because no-one was looking, they have to be more careful how they spend. At his age, and on recent form, he hardly seems worth breaking the bank over, surely there are better ways to spend their money to build for the future?
I don't think he has the energy levels for CF in a Slot team.
Salah only had a year left on his deal so it'll be be resolved one way or the other this summer. Can't see us chucking big money and a 3yr deal (2yr extension) at him when he'll be almost 35 by the end of that contract
Agree.
He would have to go to 10, no longer has the pace for rw.
No longer ha space for rw…. In a klopp team.
No one knows how we’re going to set up under new manager. New tactics, new ways of playing.
Not every single winger in the league are lightning quick.
Son, Trossard, Bowen play wide and aren’t any quicker than Salah.
Even foden, Eze, Saka arent lightning.
