    there's always another player folks.

but to go run to a 1.5mil 30 year old is basically admitting you've rummaged through the old scouting department's desks tried the few remaining targets and failed so your only option is to ask smackhead for a target out of his very limited small time list.

we could pay 200k a week and 100mil but simply don't know who to buy.

The only thing to do now is sack the people in charge and go out and start again from the top. the only signing I am interested in is the man at the top to structure this clubs senior staff.

    It's not 1.5m though. Paying €18m

16m seems a lot for 30 year old. Would expect more than just a back up for that.

Never seen him play so can’t judge but from most reports in Germany he had a very good season last year. Chipped in with a few goals but made lots of tackles, good in the air and runs for days.

Captain of Japan and was in team that topped WC group ahead of Germany and Spain and went oht to Croatia on pens.

What a lot of Japanese players have is very good technical ability so always very good on the ball.

If he’s the only other signing then be disappointing, unless he surprises everyone and has a brilliant season.

Maybe a stop gap for 2/3 years while Bajcetic gets up and running?

Fair summary imo, certainly better than the tedious (and actually embarrassing) "embarrassing" contributions people keep making <cheers>

If he helps give us structure and enables us to get top four, he'll be with the money. Hopefully, he won't be the only arrival though (if he arrives)

Be surprised if that’s all we do, but if it is then it is - important to back the guy, I’m sure he’ll give his everything

And this is the problem we've suffered from for the last few years.

Player A doesn't choose us, so we run away and sulk and pretend we never wanted to buy anyone anyway.

Only this time its worse as cause we can't even pretend we don't need someone. So we're buy player G on the list for actual money.

This is what comes from having a stop gap DoF who admits that he only really knows the German market. Another great move by FSG, instead of appointing someone proper can't make a proper decision.

Don't sign a midfielder last summer, so we get the right midfielder this summer.

    Welcome Endo

Fans moan when we miss out on target and sign no one saying we should have more then 1 option….

fans also then moan when we miss out on target so buy another player as backup as a short-medium term back up.

Fans moan we are signing no one…
fans also then moan when we do sign someone cos it’s not a 21 year old wonderkid from football manager.

None of us had heard him before 30 mins ago.

What I’ll say is, I’d rather have someone that wants to join and play for this club because of who he’s joining.. than join because he’s getting an 8 year contract and **** tonne of money.

I'd rather have someone good who'll be at the club more than 5 minutes.

Arthur..... A backup stop gap, how did that one turn out. Lucky it was just a loan.

look some folk are very defensive and getting insulting as well at this point.

nobody has a club what the player is like at all. not one of us most likely bar the usual you tubes.

I'll stand by my comment. the only signing I am interested is the director at the top to run this clubs footballing side over the next 5 years. off the park this club needs a complete restructure.

If he's like our last Japanese player at least we can look forward to winning the domestic cup double.

Could be a McAllister, could be a Klavan, could be a Litmanen. Only one way to find out...

nothing wrong with any of those.

could be a Davies, caulker or Arthur (for purposes of balance)

none of us know on here cos we've not seen a thing. we will know quick enough when we do.

To me, the only way this makes sense is if we sell Thiago

I was looking at older players. Litmanen Was just perma-injured, wasn't he? Klavan was ok and McAllister was good.

    He could be another Riedle?

Jari played a few nice games, looked a lovely player we wished we had many years before. remember he signed in 2000/2001 in a Treble year and played more the following season in the cl for us. we had owen and Heskey so was always a short term option as cover and experience.

klavan was again a cheap 4 mil reliable cb when money was short but klopp needed someone he could at least trust. he was again nothing awful, nothing massively brilliant but he did a job

macallister was again similar veteran on a free for houllier who needed experience while he brought on Gerrard. similar story as we bought hamman for 8mil.

who knows what this fella is like. only time will tell. klopps has his howlers too.
