Rumours of a medical for Nat Phillips later this week at Leeds,£8.5m with a few add ons.....£10m in all.
there's a large reality check coming for all these players. about the conditions there about the boredom there about the level of football irrespective of how many players go cos the training will be poorer and the fans not so interested. it's not like this country have not had successes at international level or issues where players were punished severely after under performing. I sincerely doubt it will be as poor as China or dropped by the despotic ruler but in the end its really quite simple to stop the stealth and outright club purchases, hold their Saudi based clubs out of European competition and slam the door on super league. 20 clubs can pay that 17billion into Europe or wherever clubs and agents and players in the short term but over time those 450 odd players will get stinking rich but there's another 10000 players to pick from
About time if true. Guy needs to move to make a career for himself. Good enough to be a higher champ lower prem player if he be sensible and takes a hit on his silly lfc contract to get a reasonable salary somewhere else
West ham have ended interest in ward prowse. Southampton will either be delighted to retain or now have a serious millstone round their necks. the problem as I see it is 3 into 2 doesn't go. Leicester have a half decent side still if they stop being arteta lite and passing it round the back til they concede. Leeds, who knows Southampton were god awful last year and need to change something in their side. keeping the two cms would actually imo be ideal to get back up but... they need a forward too. I'm confident someone will buy lavia by deadline day.
I think it’s time to pull out of the Lavia deal now. Allegedly, Southampton are taking the p1ss now upping the price at this stage. There are other targets out there. Maybe Lavia does not want to progress his career enough, I would be kicking the managers door down. It would be ironic if he ends up playing in the Championship next season. Premier League clubs need to wise up to the outrageous demands from clubs for players, I mean this lad is 19 and had one decent season, £40 million is more than enough
The trouble is that it's symptomatic of the absurd inflationary trend in football, which has been going on for years and will continue to do so until the whole house of cards comes down. While the super-rich clubs will pay it the lower echelons will keep asking for it, only coming down when it seems that they're just not going to get a buyer - so either we cough up or get involved in a bit of brinkmanship and perhaps lose out to someone else. Football is well and truly screwed.
they have not upped the price? they have stuck by their valuation which is their right as long as they can afford it and meet their own objectives for the coming season I'm sure they think someone will pay what they have asked. Our view is they have a buy back for 40mi to city so that's his value and whatever other clauses they have is their business. We will see as while he might privately bash the managers door down he has to show he's a pro on the park unlike many. thats the mark of his career and big test now.
What I find obscene is how fans keep going with "the norm" and talk like 40mil for a child with nearly no experience is "fine" or "the going rate" its money out of their own pockets funding this.
According to some sources, we are now interested in Andre Trindade, a 22 year old midfielder from Fluminense. Allegedly, his original asking price was around £20million but now has suddenly doubled. They know we are in difficulty and time is running out
Leeds are in trouble. Think they spent something like £100m on players over last couple years and have loaned/sold them all for about £10m return or something stupid.
We had nine (Hendo, Ox, Thiago, Jones, Bajetic, Elliott, Fabinho, Keita & Milner) to start with too. We've now got six
I read they upped it to £60m West Ham walked away from JWP, Newcastle walked away from Livramento and we will walk away from Lavia at £50m never mind £60m. They could end up with some very unhappy players there.
I posted this yesterday. The transfer window shuts today in Brazil so we will know sooner rather than later if this is an option.
