My thoughts exactly. I think most of the transfer links are from desperate agents.

Also hack journos desperate for something to write.
In ye olden days before t'interweb only the better (and I use the term loosely) stuff got into the newspapers because of space. Now they can have as much space as they like and they fill it with wannabes who presumably get paid by the article and so churn out any old drivel that pops into their heads.
Half of them can't even spell or construct a coherent sentence - I know I bang on about this but I think it's a basic requirement of any sort of writer who hopes to be taken seriously.
Again in ye olden days we were always warned not to believe everything you read, it's especially pertinent advice now.

On a similar note, I don't know what the media is like in other countries but I'm convinced that sometimes players and managers can't wait to move abroad to get away from the media here. You only have to look at how frustrated Klopp gets at the pressers. He very often says to the journalists that it doesn't matter what he says, they will write what they want anyway.

    Italy is 1million times worse.

Germany is down the middle. the really cheap rags are as bad but there's not as much feeding frenzy generally.

Spain is extremely biased and are fairly savage.

if you look at thing in England it follows a fairly standard pattern for complete media love in up to a point then switches to lauding achievements but the descends quickly into a shark pond feeding on the chum of their demise.

it's funny cos you look at mournihos start in England he was fawned over. so was klopp. thr man utd version of mourinho was firmly in the media shark phase and they've basically used up all good will over previous jobs and were really hard on spurs mourinho.

klopp has outlived his worship phase ewith the media. they all know he will be gone in 3 years and have done their respect and the next place to go is to join the idiots like deitmar hammann and the clown who went on about klopp ruining players in a frenzy of character assassinations.

i think you get your time in England. Once you've had it you are not getting it back unless you turn into a plucky underdog somehow.

Italy and Spain can be far far far more savage from the off.

I'd go with mito on this. From what I can tell they're no better elsewhere - they all have their rags full of uninformed and/or gratuitously provocative content.

    Paul Ince on Roberto Firmino:⁣

"The reason that Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were unplayable a couple of years ago was because of Firmino. If I was Liverpool, I'd be looking to keep hold of him.⁣

“He used to pull centre halves out of position to allow Salah and Mane space to run into. As much as Liverpool have invested in very good players like Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, they don't do what Firmino does.

Don't usually agree with Ince, I think he's a bit of a dick, but even a broken watch will be right twice a day!

theres no issue with the comment, its the truth but he is at the end of career and has made his own choice. This is a classic criticism by proxy comment by ince. Same as hamman runs his gob constantly.

LFC cannot force firmino to sign anything but he is bascially making out we should shoved 250k a week under the guys nose to keep him or we are in the wrong yet if we did he'dd then state we are stupid in doing so. He's also completely ignoring the players injuries and lack of game time over 2 seasons

    clearly thats klopp's intent.

I don't think the lad has got to grips with sides who don't give the space yet.

He prospers in space and coming short, certainly he hasn't the instinct to get behind like nunez etc.

Bobby was an integral part of that front but let's not diminish Mo and Mane. They were integral as well and were truly world class.

Bobby will leave a legend but it's time to go and has been for a little while.

Gakpo is such a strange signing because it's hard to see how he fits into the profiles that Klopp has set over the past few years. He's not the direct, pacy wide forward, and he's not the intelligent, clever, tricky false 9.
