Said this yesterday. It baffles me why they go for players who only have a couple of years left in them. No matter how great they may have been (Ronnie, Zlatan, Cavani etc) it's no way to build for the future.
And Arnautovic never was that great - he is/was a decent mid-table player, no more. It doesn't show much ambition from Man U to be more than that themselves.

I can only conclude form this that either utd are broke OR they really want ronaldo to stay (morons) and this is the reserve back up.
