Just on sadio and bayern. I hear today a 20m plus add ons was offered and rejected If we can get 30 out of them for him then take it and let the recruitment team do what they do best. Maybe it's just me but 30m for a 30yr old sadio after having rinsed him dry for 6 years aint bad at all, it's more or less what we paid for him. Just get it done either way cos it's just dragging now
Next season we are back to 5 subs so lots of fringe players will / should be getting game time even if just 10 mins here and there .
It's a derisory offer. Mané staying and helping us win big and then leaving on a free next season is worth far more than that.
I honestly couldn't put a price on him. He's worth far more to us staying for the prize money we can achieve than any amount we can sell him for. All that aside, the market has become so skewed that I don't know how much would be a reasonable figure to settle on - £50m? Whatever we get for him won't be enough to get a player of similar ability
Remember he can sign for anyone in 6months for nothing. Id argue that we've already got his replacement in Diaz anyways so either one of the youngsters steps up or we buy around the 30/40 m mark and develop again. I guess I'm just saying Im not that bothered about him going if he does, 30/40m seems a a fair price at his age and one year left.. top teams need a refresh to stay hungry sometimes I think. Hes not as quick and his touch has gone anyway
The other thing with Mané that makes him hard to replace (setting aside that Diaz is probably his replacement) is the fact he is never injured, similarly with Salah. That's huge in terms of team management. Diaz does look a tough nut, despite his small frame. He's had at least two very hard tackles where you thought uh, uh as he limped around for several minutes but recovered and carried on. Would love him to be as resilient as those two because we know Jota isn't.

If it's a choice (and I don't think it is anymore) between a) keeping him this season and he leaves for free next or b) sell him for what's being offered £20-30m now, I'd rather a) because the £20-30m we'd get now is nowhere near what keeping him in the team will bring in.
Im just gonna say one thing to that. Asthma pumps Seriously tho I'm sure we look at all players past injuries to see if they are tough enough for the prem and klopps system, I'll exclude naby from that ox we knew was a crock, you just never know tho do you? haaland could break his leg in the charity sheild for example You make a good point like and i get it, I just wonder how Fsg will see it, I'd hope by now it's all on Klopps word in terms of final say and if so I'd imagine he'd think the same as you as keep him for a year to leave on a free.
Haaland has a good 2.5 years of injuries right now plus a goal a game record around playing about half to 2/3s of games. If that record continues city will have a bit of an issue
With all this talk around the futures of Salah and Mane... it's important we don't forget about another key man who has quietly got on with things without a fuss...
Pity he played so little due to several different types of injury. However he played much better than the previous season even in those few games. (Imo)
I actually think Firmino will stay and fill that experience rotation role upfront when required. I doubt he will kick up a fuss either.
Just think how firmino is going to get anything like the wage he is on elsewhere. He hasn't get the options, not like mane has at least according to press. Same for salah. His agent is over time working the case Both have **** the bed and can **** off. BTW both are witnesses to suarez treatment at anfield so they are pretty stupid.
What will be will be. MF+S have all had a good run with us. If they stay, great. If they go, great. We just need to make sure we're building for the future too, I don't think can pin hopes on them. Salah is going through the motions to try and force a pay raise. The other day he was saying how he'll play for a Premier League rival when his contract runs out... He's trying to scare LFC into paying him more. We've had the argument before about whether or not this makes footballers bad people or not so don't want to follow that path again, but I will say, I definitely think this IS all about money for Salah. If he can make more elsewhere he will go. If he can force us to pay more be will stay. I don't believe there are really any "non monetary" problems with his contract. By contrast, I don't think Mane is leaving because of money. He either wants a new challenge or tired of being treated as second fiddle to Salah. If Salah left, I bet Mane would reconsider staying.
