Honestly our mates in barca need a slap. They should be doing deals on frees plus a portion of wages paid and selling off the crown jewels. Pedri and fati should be on the block for sale. Coutinho should be paid 200k a week and loaned out till contract is up. That saves 180k per week. The list goes on and on. It seems they've turned down a deal for cash for equity share of their tv money and are looking at barca tv as a major revenue stream. Expect to hear real and barca have pulled out of spanish tv deals and showing their own games very very soon. If they sold off pedro for 100mil they could afford to pay griezmann for his contract. That's how stupid their deals were.
abraham has gone to roma for 34mil. Its cheap today but i think a lot of prem sides are tight. West ham for example seem to be really tight fisted. Personally i don't really rate the kid. Big and tall, did well on loan with villa in championship did "ok" for chelsea as their only option. I reckon he is a needs 3 or 4 chances to score type. Big lad, quick but I think he will do well.
Their position is desperate and completely unsustainable. Having a wage bill larger than their turnover combined with £1.15BN of debt is shocking mismanagement. I don’t see a way out of it for them either, as they desperately need a sugar daddy but I’m not sure their entire club structure allows that scenario. Without a huge investment to clear all the short / medium term debt, they’re going to run out of willing lenders soon, as the business already has a negative net worth.
European Super League The funny thing was the previous president saying that if he hadn’t been force to resign he had a plan to sort it all out which would have involved them also keeping messi. Only way I can think is the guy learnt how to **** money or something. There was going to be a big club that got in serious trouble at some point as wages and fees were just getting out of hand. So far big clubs in England haven’t been too impacted due to the huge tv deal, but at some point in future sky/bt aren’t going to keep paying more and more abs at that point feel like could see some real problems with some of these clubs in England.
He was lying, he was largely culpable for the utterly ridiculous position they’ve ended up in. Reality has now arrived at the Nou Camp and it’ll be interesting to see how they try and manage it. As for PL clubs, there’s not really any of them who are massively exposed imo, the issue over here is more the Championship clubs who’ve been chasing the PL dream.
Would be interesting to see what the average wage to turnover % is for prem clubs if you removed the tv deal money. I’d imagine that deal is a hell of a big % of most clubs income and if that deal was to suddenly drop for what ever reason might put a few clubs in some short term trouble.
if you remove the tv money we are all bankrupt. If the contracts to players don't include a get out then they have to be paid and without the massive tv money not one club could survive. LFC 2019/20 Match day 83mil commerical 243 mil TV 232 mil obviously not all domestic. our wages to turnover is about 66% so its that simply hack off the TV and that hacks off commercial too due to exposure. the club simply cannot afford the tV to go unless you replace it with your own subscription service. barca are bust. they know it and everyone knows it but lines of credit are being extended to keep them going to pay those wages. Players won't shift, can't be shifted. The spanish are funny about these things. a few career ending injuries and insurance claims might be needed,m that or mysterious murders.
the net worth is liabilities v assets right? the wage bill is disgraceful. The way out is simple Pile up all the real good young talent and sell them all. See out the massive disastrous contracts or loaned them with 50% paid. I'd pay 50mil in a heart beat for pedri or fati. it should be 750-100 mil. They are never mentioned as up for sale though.
This is the thing. If tv stops (unlikely but at some point it can’t keep going up as the benefit won’t outweigh the cost to sky to invest) then the top clubs can go and sell their own games which they’ll prob love to do anyway. but Burnley, Brighton, palace, in fact anyone outside probably the top 4/6 would be very hard to replicate anything like the kind of tv money that they currently get abs suddenly the finances then look very iffy. it wouldn’t make for a good league as you really would have a huge gap abs then suddenly an ESL becomes more of a reality again but it’s worrying how reliant the whole of prem are on sky to keep paying huge money to show games. Everyone seems very reliant on that to continue but it’s a risky stagegy
I didn't say it, like. Just saying some people in the game more knowledgeable than you or I rate him highly.
It is about the timespan of change? Give any club 5 years notice and they will cut their cloth to.measure (or not if they are irresponsible) Give no notice and theres no time to bleed off the contracts This is why the 14 v 6 in the prem voting is critical. It would require a cataclysmic event for the turkeys to.vote for christmas. It's far more likely they will under sell the prem to keep the gravy flowing than allow the big clubs take more money.
Arsenal are in for odengaard and the ramsdale rumours are restarting. Literally they could not do LESS to improve on the issues they have. Another attacking midfielder and an absolutely bang average keeper. No xhaka replacement to go with partey.
The domestic TV revenue has already stalled as the last deal saw a decrease in total and that included showing more games . That deal has since been rolled over so in effect that deal will last 6 years .
seems they are selling someone and will get funds to pay the very small fee we are ending up with to get shut of his wage. 8mil?
