Jurgen Klopp has issued a demand to any player wanting a move to Liverpool – as he vowed the Reds won’t be “going mad” in the summer transfer window.

Timo Werner has become the latest player to express his admiration for the European and world champions with the RB Leipzig striker suggesting he would be a good fit at Anfield.

Liverpool’s success in recent years has made them an increasingly attractive proposition for top players.

But Klopp believes the right attitude and a readiness to fight for a first-team place are as important as any raw talent.

Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Timo Werner with reports his release clause is significantly lower than originally claimed.

Werner has been linked with a move to the Reds and has launched a charm offensive by talking up Jurgen Klopp and his side.

It has been widely reported the in-demand striker would be available for a release clause of between £50million and £55million dependant upon the success of his current club, RB Leipzig, as long as it is triggered by the end of April.

But Sport1 have now claimed his release clause is actually worth just €30m (£25m) plus performance-based bonuses in news which will only increase levels of demand.

Numerous clubs have been linked with Werner, who scored in the Champions League against Tottenham last week and has 27 goals in 33 appearances this season.

If true, that’s a bargain price. We could sell Shaq for that and replace him with Werner and not spend a penny <laugh>
 
Barcelona star Luis Suarez has said Liverpool fans are among the best in the world.

The former Reds striker spent a goal-laden three-and-a-half seasons on Merseyside and has admitted the club's supporters still hold a special place in his heart.

In an interview with OTRO, the Uruguayan forward was presented with a picture of Liverpool fans and asked to discuss them.

He said: "They are amongst the best football fans in the world because of all the love they always gave me during my time at Liverpool.

"They have always loved me and treated me exceptionally well.

"That's why they are amongst the best football fans in the world. For me, the best."

ransfermarkt has estimated that Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are Liverpool's two most expensive players. Their market values have been listed as £135million.
This would mean that Barcelona would, at the very least, have to pay £225million to sign either Mane or Salah with the premium applied.

The premium has so far kept Barcelona at bay, despite Liverpool housing world-class players who would have previously been on the Catalan club's wishlist. But after 2021 normal rules will apply, and Liverpool stars may be back on the radar at the Camp Nou.
