Matthijs de Ligt transfer would leave Liverpool facing dressing-room revolt EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool are among six clubs chasing De Ligt but may have to make the 19-year-old defender their top earner https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/matthijs-de-ligt-transfer-would-16482040
no salah didn't!! klopp played salah rw day 1. mane improved us no end at rw over lallana and let him play no 8. sure... but it's clear klopp wants people cutting in to shoot. pepe is left footed. hence makes less sense to me as he will compete with salah
It’s not going to happen....it’s not a good time to buy atm with so many teams requiring so many players, competition is high, leading to ridiculous inflation. For example, every time Utd get aggressive in the market, fees go up and salaries rocket. Paying so much for Pogba sparked a huge spike in player fees and they’re still suffering from the Sanchez debacle.....we all will eventually.
true, but if the right player is available fees don't matter. allison and vvd worth every penny, same as robo.
CB isn't a priority but I think when players like De Ligt become available you have to be in the conversation. Yes he's made mistakes etc. but if you can't see how much of a beast this kid will turn out you don't know too much about football. It's quite clear he's in a league of his own for a 19 year old. Someone will pay silly money and land him but we'd be crazy not to try. We're European champions and his CB partner is our key man, those factors will come into his thoughts. I think what I'm saying is these players are rare so when they are available and you're in such a good position you have to try and buy.
It will ruin the game eventually, for some it already has. The fees paid for both Allison and VvD were inflated by the previous windows. There is no end to it. Now we are talking of paying £80m for Pepe - who’s scored a couple of goals in the french league ffs. Origi did the same thing. Every club will do the same. Agents will walk away with hundreds of millions....hundreds of millions that could be pumped into the local social communities of the selling teams....or into grass root football of the selling countries. It’s madness. Don’t get me wrong, I’m part of the problem, not the solution...I want us to compete with other teams as much as the next man....but numbers being thrown about make my eyes water and make the money that players and agents are making is nothing short of scandalous. Now let’s get Werner for a nice sensible £45m
Agree totally Definitely sellers market this transfer window Maybe a tad harsh blaming Utd You could argue the amount they paid for Pogba was shrewd dependant on how much they sell him for Would say the Neymar and couts money was the stupid highs but totally agree
If we bought a forward, could Bobby be deployed as a midfielder? Could he be that creative force that we’ve been looking for? He plays a fulse 9 anyway....and was an AM when we bought him.....could he be the AM some of think we need? His pressing is perfect, his engine is good, he creates space, can receive on the half turn.... Just thinking out loud....
. I was pointing out that Pogba was the spark to it all but yes, if they turn a handy profit then despite what most think of him, it would be a good investment.....and it is this word, ‘investment’, which is the driver now. PSG will make a huge profit of Neymar or Dembele if the sell now. Wreckless or smart? £140m for Coutinho was as a direct result of that inflation so you could argue that we have benefitted most from the inflation given how it helped build our team. My point though is more a social one.
you do realise you are talking like a property tycoon in 2008? this is a bubble and when it pops some clubs will be left with massive debts and millstones round their necks. e.g.... Sanchez on 350 or whatever a week. 500k some say. the truth is the domestic market is at breaking point and revenue growth is being fuelled by growth in Asia. the tv deal went down in UK last time..... there's a time coming where this will pop like the giant soap bubble it is. the agents will still be rich but many clubs will go under.
Klopp has hinted at deploying TAA in midfield - can’t remember the exact quote but it was something about sooner rather than later Would that mean he places Gomes right back in order to get game time ?
A lot can happen to a 16/17 year old that stops them reaching their potential. I hope you’re right mind
Gomez is such a good CB and a bit of a liability at RB imo. Fair enough he plays there to give Trent a rest, but he needs to solely be a CB and we sign a RB/LB
yeah but why would.you a) sign a 75 mil 250k per week right cb. b) move a rcb who is gomez good to rb. c) move taa whos already top right back in land to cm... rb is a key position for us. why not stick as is then when ki is ready move taa is you like and have 3 worldies
We all have already. There's no way we would have paid the equivalent of what we had to in order to get VvD and Alisson before that crazy spiral after the Neymar transfer. Of course we also sell at a much higher rate so we can still compete. My problem with this is that it just widens the gap between a handful of top clubs and the rest. Unless a lower club is lucky enough to have a sought after player to sell they can't compete. They're shopping in Tesco while the big clubs are at Harrods. Quite a few will end up going to the food bank. As supporters of one of the big clubs it's easy to turn a blind eye to this, but it's been coming for a long time and it shows little sign of stopping.
