He came out a bit randomly a couple of times and it is an absolute cert he's going to get caught faffing on the ball at least once this season because, well that's our way lol.

But he appears to be a presence in the box and if he keeps up that kind of accuracy with delivery he'll launch quite a few counters....

I was never convinced for that amount of money, but apart from the one that squirmed around the post that he tried to catch, I was impressed. In fact, he came out and caught (and held) three crosses and corners on his six-yard line. That in itself is a quantum leap from Migs and Karius. I still am bemused by the pricetag, and I was expecting to see the new Lev Yashin at the WC (and was very disappointed), but we have to pay a surcharge nowadays on prime targets, so it goes.

He’s going to be scrutinised massively and as a keeper, errors will be punished. He may prove to be world class and may not.....he might even take a year or so to settle in like de gea but I’m just happy that the club have done something massive about the biggest problem on the pitch that we had - they’ve delivered.

Yeah, it's a lot of money, but - well at least it's not doing the usual Liverpool thing (till VVD) and try and fix it with a cheapo buy: I half expected us to go for Butland.

looks like Willian is staying at chelsea.

I'm actually a little disappointed by that news as it's definitely the right time to sell him off for 60 odd million.

Hopefully sarri chucks him in our midfield rather than keeps him as the winger that everyone uses him. He'd be far better there than Fab and Barkley
