Allan Rodrigues de Souza has signed a contract extension at Liverpool.

And the Brazilian midfielder has immediately completed a season-long loan move to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 21-year-old, who has recently had loan spells with Hertha Berlin and Apollon Limassol, has committed his long-term future to the Reds by penning fresh terms.

Silly.

nobody can show 10 points imo that karius and mingolet cost.

He is just saying we can win the league and get to 85 or 90 points just by buying one player.

IMO theres no justification for thinking a GK can do that much. not without entering the realms of idle speculation baout world calss saves to stop real goals our keepers had no chance with.

Its the entire package form 1 to 11 imo. a full year of VVD, having Keita, The fornt 3 doing as much as they did last year.. Fabinho playing well etc.. it will all either add up or not.

Its a tired pundit line. Might as well have said set our stall out early doors and its a game of two halves.

The lad is seen as value to us. if we can get him a work permit he becomes worth 5mil instantly.


Anyway watch out for Awoniyi this year last. that lad is due an absolute stormer of a year.
 
One thing the Alisson transfer might do is alter the fees from now on for goalkeepers. A goalkeeper is arguably your most vital position to get right, therefore, they should actually be valued not just a lot higher but an awful lot higher than they currently are. In terms of their position not just monetary. Why should and why are keepers exempt from high transfers? Raised eyebrows now will lower and lower in the future methinks.
 
Actually looking at where we have placed some lads this year the loans have been half decent.

Awoniyi went to gent who are going to be in europa.
Allan - frankfurt are in europa. won german cup last year.
Wilson - not a bad loan for a lad who's clearly not part of klopps plans. Derby and lampard who will want to be promoted

These 3, if they do well, i think will come back very valuable assets... for <1mil total outlay. Prob i'd say 25-30mil min fees.

Kent and ejaria loans are.. **** sake... they are not going to improve not increase in value up there

Bogdan is a just go loan. please just go

then Grujic is strongly linked to a premier league loan move. He could be really good this year and be another 15-20mil player.

IMO utd have just put 30mil on de gea price to anyone looking

When utd shafted real over the 30mil move and De Gea then signed that 5 year deal utd priced him out of market at 60mil, I think his fee will be north of 100mil if real ask again.

TBH for me there's a thing about goals win games and dirty positions on the pitch can be filled by anyone. Keepers and CBs have always cost less, its just relative.

I would agree that any team wanting to do well needs one good man in each line. GK, CB, CM, ST. There was a time when some managers made their reputations just putting that in place in championship and going and winning the thing. Bit harder now

Klopps bout a whole new team spine there.

In todays market... is 230 odd mil for 4 players all that terrible... it does sound odd to think but it seems that if you look at it like that and fund it off selling countinho, sahko, benteke.. well thats decent.

I agree. In my day it was every team needs a great goalie and a great centre forward, the rest looks after itself. The game's moved on, a lot, but that still holds true. Add the positions you mention and that's going from good to very good.

It is odd how keepers have never been valued. Poty, Balon d'or, forget about it. Just wait now for our history making transfer fee to extend to a history making season.
 
Still remember Shilton being signed by Clough for Forest. Eyebrows were raised at the time at the price but he said something along the lines of "its the most important position on the pitch". Turned out it was deffo value for money for them just hope Alisson turns out as well for us..

It's always hard to evaluate any single player's performance as points won or lost.
However, I'm convinced that de Gea gained Utd a lot of points last season.

Besiktas defender Vida made a name for himself at the World Cup, helping Croatia reach the finals before suffering defeat to France.

His performances did not go unnoticed with the likes of West Ham, Everton and Liverpool showing interest.

But it seems Liverpool look set to win the race for his signature with the latest reports from Turkey claiming a deal is on the cards.

Turkish publication A Spor claim Vida ‘has signed’ a two-year deal with the Reds with the option of a third.

The report claims the Reds have agreed a deal in principle with the centre-back but must now meet Besiktas' €25m (£22.2m) asking price.
LIVERPOOL have reportedly reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Domagoj Vida.

Well you explain how alisson can contribute 10/15 points.

This is the realm of pure speculation.

I can think of only 2 games where 100% I would accept it was a gk error last year.

I would challenge anyone willing to list out how 15 points more could occur with some justification.

Just try.

I will start someone off.

If mingolet had saved that Newcastle 1 on 1 when shelvey put the newkie striker it it would have been a win. 1-0

To me that's pure utter speculation but start there

James Pearce has directly contradicted this only this week.

We have no interest in the guy or any cb.

Every keeper is theoretically worth so many points.
