Whilst it maybe infantile it is an odds on cert that the big clubs will want these players.
What i dont get is why we think he wont go. The only player who has stayed at our club that i can think of was Gerrard.
I remember being told the same things on this very board about Ford, people saying he was a nice guy, was very hapy at the club etc (he went the year after i predicted he would)

Absolutely not. Do i think he will - absolutely, yes
And tbh if we were to be offered stupid money it would be bonkers not to.
The only way we can keep these big players is if we start winning and until we stop accepting fourth and disregarding the ‘small’ cups (i hate that) we are going to be stuck in this cycle of perpetual transition.
We are a big club but we are not the same as barca, real even pos utd.
Whilst we keep selling our bigger stars we do run the risk of doing a Southampton, that said my faith in the scouting team is getting repaired so hopefully we can sort this all out
This is obvious, isn't it? It's been said to death. But you've completely disregarded so many factors including building something, Klopp, the fact that Salah knows the team is set up for him etc. What you've said is a typical simplification which is so overused from average football fans.
I hate to put it like that, but it really is. There are many, many factors when deciding clubs and comparing him to Coutinho just isn't the same. Couts fits Barcelona, he's south american (they like Spain) and never previously stated that he was determined to prove himself in the prem.
I could honestly go on but hopefully you get the gist and won't knitpick at the odd thing. Don't take it personally but the above stuff has been posted to death.
See where you are coming from but it clearly isnt obvious. There are pages on here of people going salah will be different, he wont go because, for example, klopp is building something and he is the central part of it.
I think that is totally irrelevant, to a player nowadays. Klopp was using Ford and even now looks like he is trying to directly replace Ford which means he possibly feels the current system alone is not going to last.
Before salah it was ford, tbf we all knew suarez was going, but before that it was masch and torres, even rush went, but tbf that was a different era.

4th is failure.
losing finals is failure.
ignoring cups is small.team mentality

we might get one more year out of salah bit after that and 30 more goals and he is off.
why?
cos we will have karius lovren henderson in team letting us down. we will be 4th or 5th or whatever again but will be saying ain't it great and off goes salah then it will be we won't miss him kieta is the star etc etc.
fabinho and kieta improve us. we need to get another forward urgently and if fekir was the choice that too but the keeper issue will bite us in games

Why do players want to goto Barca, Real ?
Is it money or the winning, you dont see players angling for moves to Celtic (guarateed trophy per season)
Why do these players leave us ?
Why does Utd not have the same issue as us

And thats the time frame i am thinking for Salah too, but would not be too shocked if it were this summer or mid season again.
I think this year has to be a year with a trophy, to have a sniff at the bigger stars staying it needs to be probably the prem which with squad as stands today will be a tough ask. Not impossible though

there is a reason why firmino was delighted to get his contract.
while he's good and works hard he hasn't much pace so none of the really big clubs are calling.
salah this summer will have sniffers.
kieta might have a lot of interest next year.
we are doing well getting a few good uns but the moment we make do with a karius or hope someone comes good eventually thwse guys are off.

imo its not too bad at all but the progress from here requires deep commitment and speed of action.
for lfc to win things we need
really forward competition not origi not sturridge not ings not solanke. I am all for Wilson getting a chance but there has to be a real option as well as the 4 mention won't give it.
fekir would have added the midfield option. pity but we will see.
lovren is an accident waiting to happen and karius is too.

first off it's money. it certainly helps. dembele and coutinho on 250k per week.
second it's a two horse race in Spain.
third it's messi and Barca glory.
fourth it's a fabulous lifestyle in nice weather.
fifth... well... there's a lot.of under the table going on.
sixth... the Spanish speaking south Americans and Brazilians are more in tune with Spain than England as a destination anyway.
we lost coutinho and Suarez... not rocket science why they go to Barca.
I note city don't lose players to them.

We’re now being linked to Courtois. He’s known to want a move back to Spain because his family live there but why stop a fact like that getting in the way of a good story eh?
