Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec has hinted that Liverpool could also be in the running for Brazilian starlet Malcom. Arsenal have been heavily linked with the 20-year-old this transfer window and are targeting the winger as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

We also sent a man to the moon

The moment he kicked his bird when she was on the deck was the moment his career at LFC went down the pan, but my point was kind of that if he had been our top player he would know he would probably still be wanted.
That's where the hypocrisy kicks in.:emoticon-0105-wink:
Pragmatism. Like the government turning a blind eye to some countries' appalling human rights record because we can make money from them.

Inter Milan make their move for Daniel Sturridge - but they want a loan rather than a permanent deal [HASHTAG]#LFC[/HASHTAG]

So yeah, let's help by to bolster Inter's season and weaken our squad at the same time, no wonder LFC told Inter no chance unless it's permanent.
Feel a bit sorry for Sturridge that he's sitting on the bench most of the time but he's missed games with some really trivial and fake looking injuries over the past couple of seasons but been happy enough to collect his wages.

He has been given a chance (albeit a small one) this season and just doesn’t really fit into Klopps preferred way of playing.

I don’t want him going anywhere this window though as there’ll surely be times this season where he will be handy to come on when we’re chasing a goal.

Would feel for him if he missed out on the World Cup though

Liverpool, Man United & Alexis Sanchez
On BBC radio on Wednesday night, Phil Neville offered his thoughts on the Man United and Alexis Sanchez deal.

While the deal has yet to be completed, the Chilean is widely expected to move to Old Trafford this January.

At the same time, Henrikh Mhkitaryan is in line to move to Arsenal this transfer window.

According to Phil Neville, Man United may have been forced into signing Sanchez by Liverpool.

Phil Neville on Liverpool’s influence
Neville believes Liverpool’s upturn in form, piqued by last weekend’s 4-3 win over Man City, has forced United into action.

The sooner P Neville gets the England Women's manager job the better for all, he'll be up to his neck in bras and thongs and hopefully that'll keep his useless punditry trapped in his overinflated head.

Totally agree on everything except last line.

I rate/rated Sturridge and wish he would prove everyone wrong once again, however if i am Southgate Sturridges ability is not even in question.

That said the notion that Sturridge could get through a month of tournament footbal is ludicrous. There was a discussion on Carroll too on TS, and for me he is the same. Yes anyone can get injured but these two are so fragile.
You just could not risk it with so few places available.

The other issue is Sturridge will have known his position back in the summer, so whats changed? What possible reason could there have been to stay at LFC if he wanted a shot at the world cup?

This says to me he only wants to put in minimum effort in order to get to the world cup. Maybe he should have concentrated on staying in the squad when he was pretty much first/second pick. Clearly he knows he has the ability and believes he can get back in the squad. Which to me is a little bit irksome.

I think Sturridge has wanted his cake.... Don’t blame him for trying it but defo dont feel sorry for him.

I agree.

We have seen sturridge. seen enough to know he can't run full pelt and wants to mind himself.

IMO southgate would be bloody mad to take him.

If we are talking strikers then there should be 4 on the plane. Kane, vardy and rashford are 3.

midfield 8/9 are: ox, lallana, dier, horrenderson, alli, sterling, delph might make it... then whilshire, and any one of 3 or 4 others.

so that last forward slot is up for grabs and IMO its more of a wide forward position in a 433 than a no 9 that southgates needs. Walcott, wellbeck and lingard will be fighting for it.

For me sturridge can't get fit, stay fit and when he gets a shot he hardly moves. if we can get shut now great... can be class when given a chance but you have to run.

Mo salah is showing what a robust sturridge could have been like. when he was able he was a great striker but he is just not able

I would be taking lingard as the fourth. I could be swayed by walcott (always liked him), sadly think Wellbeck has had his shot (bit like Studge tbh)

I actually dont think hendo should be going either as I think he will struggle injury wise too. Llala is perilously close to being in that group. That said fairly certain Southgate will take both. Hope Rashford goes he is a player when on song that is electrifying. Worrying thing about Rashford is he seemed to be developing faster under Van Gaal - he seems a little bit subdued in the last few times i have seen him, but he defo has quality.

It you line up a 433 for southgate

Pickford/Hart
Walker Stones Cahill Rose
Whilshire? Dier Lallana
Sterling Kane Rashford

The fornt 3 pick themselves. The full backs should be a lock... the Midfield aint great.

The worry is southgate might fall for 3 at the back as the fashion.

So for me..... Vardy is reserve for kane. Then you want two lads to be wide forwards. Ox and lingard probably works. I'd being welbeck too.

After this... well... is it drinkwater or horrdenerson.. who cares?

Stones, Cahill, jones, smalling.. meh

Realistically sturrdige cannot go. theres no place for him in a 433 and nobody plays 442 any more.
