He did get a chance, played loads in the Suarez season.

and was so good you called him the red cafu!.

Then he got injured and jurgen doesn't fancy him.

He was solid (no good going forward) but given the choice of solid and **** going forward and just pure **** (moreno) we all know who we'd go for (and when gomez started he was solid but **** going forward)

So Bobby, would he be kept by Chelsea under the same circumstances?

I'd hope not. To be fair i don't know the whole case of why he hit his girlfriend (did she attack him first) but i'd expect he'd get fired. Hell we even fired a 20m asset in Mutu when he took recreational drugs!

And was brilliant for us. If he played like that season for us now he’d be first choice full back on either side. Defensively he was head and shoulders above what Moreno Gomez and TAA are now (won’t include Robbo as not seen enough)

No you're just being an old romantic.

He had a couple of brilliant games. The rest were 'he's got the potential' performances. Clearly he didn't have the potential though or he would have played a lot more since.

But....you gave Rix at coaching job the day after his release from jail, don't get me wrong we got terrible stick for not getting rid of Suarez after the Evra incident, but Fergie never got any flak for keeping Kung Fu Cantona.

Football is a fickle and hypocritical industry and money comes before morals in most cases.

Rix was under Bates. We're under Russian rule now.

I'm not giving you stick for keeping Flanno, just saying Flanno was a solid defender and probably would have improved you. He obviously did very well as you guys named his the Red Cafu (which wasn't a joke) but it was unfortunate he got injured.

Some people want to airbrush him out as if he was crap when really he never got the opportunity again

The moment he kicked his bird when she was on the deck was the moment his career at LFC went down the pan, but my point was kind of that if he had been our top player he would know he would probably still be wanted.
That's where the hypocrisy kicks in.:emoticon-0105-wink:

I'm disappointed in anyone who latched onto Bobbys bait.
"Could have been our Azi" <laugh>

When azpi first joined chelsea, he was just a solid reliable defender with good work rate.

Nowadays he's an excellent defender with great work rate but is still technically average. He's terrible as a wingback because he doesn't have the attacking play to go with it but he's rock solid (admittedy he's got a few assists crossing deep to morata) but he isn't that comfortable on the ball.

Flanno could have been your azpi

No you've got that wrong mate. Cafu himself called him the red Cafu.

The bellend was making something of his life in an era of austerity, he must be on a big wage, maybe not in comparison to others at the club but mega money compared to the average man in the street.
He was living a cosseted life and had the best of health treatment paid for him by the club etc, but the real him was/is obviously different to what we saw on the tv, what he did he might have done before behind closed doors and if it's in his nature he'll do again.
What a waste of talent and and a waste of oxygen.

Good riddance.
Totally agree with above ,obviously the slack jaw redneck look didn't belie that he's got a cabbage for a brain ,no place for the likes of him at LFC
