We'll never know I guess but he didn't look happy in his 5 years there and when it comes down to things, would you rather enjoy yourself for 5 years doing something you love winning a couple things, or be unhappy and have a few more medals to show for it?
I know everyone puts footballers as mercenaries who are just in it for the cash but when it comes to £150k or £120k a week does money really matter too much? They still have feelings like you and I and when you can earn a tiny bit less but enjoy your job rather than earn a bit more and hate it would the former not be better? wed all prefer to enjoy or job but most of us have to earn a wage we can live on that restricts that, footballers don't have that issue as they do the job they love anyway in most cases and as I say, the amount of money they receive (not earn) is more than enough.
As if he was happy in his latter days at Liverpool? He wanted the move, and his body language and performances had been poor for about a year before it. You're confusing home grown players who are boyhood fans like Gerrard with bought in professionals, they don't feel the same way, as there's not the same emotional attachment
If you think a little bit more money makes up for watching his team pick up medals while he's slaughtered week after week by his own fans and the media for being a total joke of a player and wasting the best years of his career on the bench then you're kidding yourself
Hahaha the most deluded of the deluded appears "Chelsea gave me what I wanted when I left Liverpool : trophies" http://www.espnfc.co.uk/barclays-pr...ve-me-trophies-i-wanted-when-i-left-liverpool He also played more times for them than he did for you soft ollies
Press have city at 40mil. I'd hold out for 50 but only for 3/4 week max. LFc need to move and move now in the market place.
Manchester City are preparing a £40m bid for Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling, 20, but the Anfield club remain determined to keep the player. Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, 24, would be a "great signing" for Liverpool, says former Reds winger John Barnes. (Talksport) please log in to view this image

I'd be happy with £40m to be honest. I know we said the same about the Suarez money but that money can go a long way in developing a strong spine for the team.
More than happy with that I don't think his value will increase and he's easily replaced we could even say that Ibe is a ready replacment, we'd be mugs not to go for it so I imagine he'll stay for another year and go for a nominal fee in a years time.
Konoplyanka is on a free can't do any worse for a free to replace sterling. Milner on a free and then use the Sterling money to rebuild the spine Lacazette Kovacic and a right back to replace Johnson would make my transfer window. That said if Lucas is leaving we need to look for a Holding mimidfielder.
I'd love £40million. But in the hands of Rodgers and Co? You know it'll be spent on overpriced ****e, especially when clubs know we've got dosh.
Would take Kono in a heartbeat. And if there is any chance of Lacazette, then we need to go all in for him.
We need competition plus Europa means we need bodies. Ibe is still learning his trade and he needs to step up by having competition
My comment wasn't that Ibe should be a starter, but that playnka is a negligible step up tbh and that I'd rather we stick with Ibe for that #2 role and find a better #1
Attempting to increase the squad numbers was what ****ed us up last summer. Get the first team right and the squad will take care of itself.
