Hi, we hear so much about Chelsea hoovering up and stockpiling up and coming players (before they hit the big time). Why don't these players realise that they're not going to get much of a chance to succeed particularly as Mourinho keeps a smaller squad and doesn't rotate? This can't happen every year.

Because the decisions are being made by agents and the agents know they have a nice guaranteed income with Chelsea's plan

    1. Move to Chelsea; agent gets a signing bonus
    2. Go on loan. Agent probably gets bonus from loan club
3a. Player does well; new contract at Chelsea and another bonus for agent
3b. Player does bad; move to a new club and another bonus for agent

These great players can make their own space, Pirlo could get Charlie Adam sent off or booked. Pirlo could do for the club what Gary McAllister did about 15 years ago.

  4. Pretty much my point. We could have a perfect defence that never concedes but that would only get us 38pts, two short of safety. You have to score goals in football and we've struggled to do that some losing SAS.

  5. They could be looking at the success rate of players that do join them. They may not play much for Chelsea but a lot of gone on to better things. One even got re-signed for a large fee

Think thats what what is being suggested.

Have a DM behind can and hendo with courinho in front.

    Lucas
    Can Hendo
    Courinho
    Sturridge Lacazette/aubamayang

woulsnt mind that as a midfield forward line up. Just one big striker signing.

  7. I think Studge would be the one to miss out there. However, Brod would probably switch to 433 so all three can play completely nullifying Coutinho's impact

Edit: just realised you didn't mean sign both, you meant one or the other <laugh>

I'd prefer to play with 11 players though so wouldn't drop Sturridge and not have a replacement? <whistle>

  11. I'd be very happy if we signed either but I'd love Pierre. Bluff would instantly blow his load at that signing too :)

I honestly think we only need 2 real quality signings and a 3rd cheaper to have a proper challenge at 4th. Similar to last 5-10 years and as Chelsea showed this year... sign 2 top level players and it not only strengthens your team but can inspire other players to play better (like Suarez did last year).

    GK - Mig Jones
RB - Flanno Wisdom Manquillo Montoya
CB - Skrtel Lovren Sakho Ilori
LB - Moreno (Flanno & Montoya can also play here)

    DM - Can Lucas
    CM - Hendo Pjanic
    AM - Coutinho Lallana Sterling

Wide players - Ibe / Sinclair

    CF - Sturridge Lacazette/Aubamayang (1 or other)

  13. "2 real quality signings and a 3rd cheaper"

    You effectively named four

    Many many problems

    1. Manquillo might not be here next year
    2. Flanagan is out and not likely to be baCk and if he were I'd debate his utility
    3. We risked can sending off today big style cos we dropped moreno cos the lad is woeful defender
    4. Sterling is wanting to go
    5. Sturridge is out

So really if we just buy a couple like montoya we are ducked again. The good thing is I think we anyway if Rodgers is left in

Liverpool step up interest in Dortmund star

Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Despite the German side’s much documented problems both on and off the field this term, the 25-year-old has had a prolific campaign, netting 22 times in all competitions.
And with a whole host of names set to follow boss Jurgen Klopp out of the Westfalenstadion exit door this summer, clubs are now circling the Gabon international, with the Merseyside Reds trying to force their way to the front of the queue.
Boss Brendan Rodgers has identified the 25-year-old as the perfect player to give his side some much needed firepower next year.
However, if a club with Champions League football comes hunting, the Anfield outfit may struggle to tempt the £15m rated striker to Anfield.

Liverpool are considering a £20m bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the Daily Express.
The 23-year-old Frenchman is the top scorer in Ligue 1 this season and has scored 27 goals in 32 games in all competitions.
Lacazette is also wanted by Manchester United but it is claimed Liverpool are in pole position to secure his signature.
Arsenal's hopes of signing Isco this summer have been dealt a blow after the midfielder insisted he was happy at the Bernabeu.
The Spaniard's future has been subject to intense speculation in recent weeks after becoming a bit-part player following Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez's return from injuries.
But Isco, who is also being monitored by Manchester United and Chelsea, says he has no plans to leave.

SCOUTED: Liverpool have revived their interest in Son Heung-Min [GETTY]
Liverpool are set to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya, Spanish website Fichajes claim.
The Reds are looking to add a full-back to their ranks with Glen Johnson set to leave Anfield this summer while Javier Manquillo is only on loan at the club and Jon Flanagan is struggling with injuries.
And it is claimed the Reds have already agreed personal terms with 24-year-old Montoya but still need to discuss a fee with Barcelona.
Liverpool have revived their interest in Bayer Leverkusen forward Son Heung-Min, the Daily Mail report.
The South Korea international has been scouted by the Reds on several occasions this season and they are considering a £15m bid for the player.
His agent Thies Bliemeister, told German newspaper Bild: "I know Liverpool have scouted him several times this season and would like to have him in their team."
Liverpool face a battle to sign Barcelona forward Pedro with Arsenal set to make a £22m bid as the Catalan giants are ready to listen to offers for the player, the Metro claim.
The 27-year-old is fourth choice at the Camp Nou behind Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez favoured by Luis Enrique.
The Spain international has also been monitored by Manchester United but Arsenal are hoping to steal a march on their rivals.
The 10-year anniversary of Liverpool's last Champions League win is just over three weeks away.
And former manager Rafael Benitez paid homage to the event yesterday as his Napoli side scored three goals in six minutes against AC Milan to seal a 3-0 win, the Liverpool Echo report.
In a mirror of that infamous night in Istanbul, his side blew away Milan in the second half while they also missed a penalty during the game.
Southampton are ready to offer Jay Rodriguez a new five-year contract to keep him away from Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, the Daily Express claim.
The 25-year-old has not played this season as he recovers from a serious cruciate knee ligament injury.
But he returned to training last week and with only one year remaining on his current deal, the Saints hope he will commit his future to St Mary's.

True but what's the point of investing in the attack but then not being able to defend a lead?

Either way - I'm sure we all agree that we need to improve both areas. <ok>
