Could be that we're trying to sign someone before selling Couts, which is being held back until the very last minute so that we don't have to deal with inflated prices.

Although £70m for Lemar does seem to be a vastly inflated price

Liverpool transfer news: Reds ‘could’ make late move for star German playmaker, Chelsea also interested
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Hoffenheim playmaker Kerem Demirbay.

The young playmaker was spotted talking with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp following the Reds 4-2 win over Die Kraichgauer last week. Demirbay previously played for Borussia Dortmund youth sides while Jurgen Klopp was in charge.

- Good that he can beat a man and he's quick but hes also a little brainless and dribbles far more than he should rather than play the ball as a CM should.

I was going to say before he was a utility player but even then i don't think of him as one as i think he's pony in the middle.

Good cover for RB and winger though (especially if he can get better end product and his lack of consistency isn't wengeritis).

The other thing i didn't like was his injury record.

He's looked really good at wingback though (although he was a shambles at your lot)

Wonder if that's Arsene being **** tactically and getting his midfield set up wrong though? If all arsenals midfielders are doing the same maybe says more about the tactics.
 
If we have sold Couthino, we will still need Lemar. I'd also expect a surprise signing as we look to beef up the squad.

We needed 3 players last week. 4 if Couthino goes. If we are not going to have a skinny squad, we have 2 or 3 more to sign yet.

Apparently he just names the team sheet and let's them express themselves like a Mighty Ducks film <laugh>

Klopp will soon see him doing the right things

Demirbay looks superficially like Can. I'll probably get them mixed up when watching games on my phone.
 
Imagine if Matip get injured for a few weeks....who will be our CB pairing for league and European games? If we fail to fill this position, our window will ultimately have been unsuccessful. We are on the verge of either a great or a disappointing window....I have no idea which with just over 24 hours to go! <yikes>

We'll have no idea which until we see how we're getting on after a few weeks.
 
I don't see Lemar happening. Our attentions are switching to VVD now.

Ox turned down £180k from Arsenal and big money from Chelsea. His Liverpool's deal will be worth around £120-125k a week.

About £10m too much, but a very very good signing for our squad. I see him as a temporary replacement for Lallana and direct competition for him when hes back fit. I think he will suit our style more than Arsenal
