Was why I said get me as much cash as possible plus Rafhina. He's a decent option in midfield and has a sell on value.

No one think we can do a good deal with psg probably for next season ie purchase of neymar and keep him happy as long as his friend joins him next season ( ffp rules if they are enforced lol)

We keep coutinho for one more season ( ie suarez last season and also world cup year) and get 2 decent players on loan as well.
Then next season ( assuming we got rid of Edwards lol) have time with money to look for replacements.

We could have the best defender in the world, but if midfield are more interested in glory ( ie attacking) it will always be that way. Need a proper DM player.
So we have 60 mill for VVD and 70 mil for Keita. If we were to get 135m for Coutinho I'd rather we went back with 90 mil to Leipzig and 75 mil to Southampton.

We (FSG) won't get £130m for Ford as, predictably, Barca have made it a distressed sale with half the world and his wife, and those ever sagacious pundits on MoTD too, all taking it as normal that Liverpool must/should/have to sell. FSG haven't the backbone to stand up to that. You could tell from Jurgen's desperately remose interview 'accepting' that it was out of his hands now and up to the owners. But hang on, that wasn't the deal when he signed, was it? I surely remember that he was to have the last word over transfers over the 'Committee'?
Here's how Mystic Donga sees this panning out - we'll 'agree' a £100m fee (not £135m ffs - Barca know they're dealing with a corporate jellyfish here), and even that'll turn out to be £80m when we read about it in Wikileaks two years later (if Barca can resist the temptation to crow about it first). It'll be staggered, interest free, over five years, and doubtless they'll throw in a few makeweights from their academy and semi-retirees that Jurgen doesn't want anyway. But they will issue a statement saying how much they respect us...
I ask you again, given all this inevitable outcome, what is the point of selling and giving in to all this? We have the money now to get our targets - all an extra £100m will do is get us to do a mad trolley dash for several Andy Carrolls on the deadline. We'll be out of the CL anyway too at this rate, as no matter what we won't be buying defenders before the Hoffenheim tie anyway, as we would have done so before now if that's where we were going. So what happens if Ford is still there on 1st September? Worst case scenario is he sulks and (with barca's help) disrupts the dressing room. Best case, as with Luis in 2013, he gives us his best season then ****s off, not necessarily to barca (his 'dream' move) but to whosoever pays the most (his other dream move).
Just hope that if we sell, for whatever price, and if this is being done over Jurgen's head that he walks, I really do. I'm no SOS. but that club will be far, far better off without FSG if they think the principle reason to get involved with football is to make profit on footballers.

If we sold Coutinho but brought in William Carvalho and a CB, that would probably improve the team overall.

I never stated it was dependent, merely entertained the possibility. Point being that the defence is in need of greater attention than the creativity of the team.
