Date published: Saturday 24th June 2017 2:41
Liverpool made a £26million bid for Lazio star Keita Balde Diao before signing Mohamed Salah from Roma, according to reports.

The Reds completed the capture Salah earlier this week in a deal believed to be worth £39million

Despite Liverpool’s pursuit of the Egypt winger, reports suggest that Keita was also under serious consideration.

Italian paper Corriere dello Sport states that Jurgen Klopp even made an offer for the Senegal international.

However, the deal never materialised and Klopp instead opted to sign Salah from Roma.

Keita was apparently open to a possible move to Anfield and is reportedly disappointed a deal failed to materialise.

He played a huge part in the Lazio team which qualified for the Europa League thanks to a fifth-placed finish in Serie A.

Keita bagged 16 goals and amassed three assists in 2016/17, and has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Juventus, whom he could join for free upon the

We offered more for Salad than we were willing to spend on Keita?

Inter: Agent of Brazlian striker, Liverpool target; "I can confirm he will go out on loan next season"

The agent of Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa or (Gabigol) has been talking to O Jogo about the player’s future. The 20-year-old has had a year to forget since his high-profile arrival in Italy from Santos last summer having failed to establish himself in the squad after a turbulent season on and off the pitch at the San Siro.

Wagner Ribeiro has now revealed their plans for the new campaign we he explained that; “He will go out on-loan next season, that I can confirm. We have had proposals from England and Spain and we are studying them carefully”.

It’s been reported that Liga side Las Palmas have been very keen to sign the youngster and Liverpool have also been linked with his signature in the past. According to Ribeiro however, there is another player in town right now with Porto thought to also be ready to make a move. The agent declared that; “Gabriel would be pleased to play in Portugal with Porto, it’s a club and a championship that interests him”.

If we buy Ox then I'd be concerned. Not because I don't rate him. He's young and half decent and Klopp obviously sees something in him.

My concern would be that it'd mean that we are overloaded in a certain dept.....and might mean the departure of one of them. Namely couthino. Let's hope that we are just getting strength in depth rather than planning on also replacing someone.

Is that not a [HASHTAG]#meltdown[/HASHTAG] at the [HASHTAG]#meltdowns[/HASHTAG] :)

Between the heat and how crap our fans are I'm bordering on [HASHTAG]#meltdown[/HASHTAG]

One more whinge that we haven't finished all our business a week before the window even opens might push me over the edge

There is a long way to go until the transfer window closes. I have faith Klopp will try his best to get the players he wants, but will begin to panic a bit if we have not signed anyone else when we reach the day before the window closes.

I was overly optimistic about Balo <laugh>

It's quite clear that Salah is a decent player though, not sure why you don't seem to rate him. He didn't fail at Chelsea, he was young and too far back in the pecking order. KDB failed by your logic too?!!

I'd be interested to know who you'd want us to sign that suits our fast attacking play?

He's a ex-Chelsea player, that makes him a dick in my book

PS...the players I don't want us to sign usually turn out to be decent; aka Studge & Coutinho. I wasn't 100% on Suarez either
