I still think we will lose Couts this summer.

Serious question, how do we buy VVD and everyone look sane in this mess? Whether I want him or not I think if we do buy him both clubs look like laughing stocks (with us possibly having way overpaid for the player).
Without all the noise, I do not think VVD worth more than £30M, still handsome profit for Southampton.
everywhere is awash with cash. we are getting none of these while we pactice excel anaylsis to set fees and bid 25 mil for a 40mil player

Tadic is either brilliant or ****, we need players who can do it in every game not when they feel like it.
Have Hertha cancelled Allan's loan deal?
According to German newspaper BILD, Hertha Berlin are ready to send Allan Rodrigues da Silva back to Liverpool.
The Reds had hoped that the Brazilian would remain with the Bundesliga club for a further season as they look to secure a work permit.
That could now prove trickier, if the report is correct, and Liverpool will have to find another home for Allan next season
Inter eye Costa deal as Perisic replacement - reports
Talking of Douglas Costa, there are reports this morning that any Liverpool bid to sign the winger could be scuppered by Manchester United .
Jurgen Klopp is eyeing the Brazilian as a potential alternative to Mohamed Salah, if Liverpool fail to agree a deal with Roma.
Alexis Sanchez will not leave Arsenal for a Premier League club, plus transfer updates for Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Instead, Liverpool are considering Lazio’s 22-year-old Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – and according to Italian outlet Calciomercato – we’ve had an initial €28m bid rejected.

Well obviously it wasn't the latest news, I got that from reading the link. I was looking for the latest transfer news and that came up top on a google search - go figure.
And no I wouldn't
I'd rather have Markovic back (and I wouldn't) than Tadic.
We will buy VVD but we will look like idiots regardless.
But at the end of it, we will have gained a top class player. We were being aggressive for once and we should have landed him sooner had Soton not spat their dummies out.
We didn't do anything wrong, Soton got the hump because we killed their bidding war. We only apologised simple because no deal could have been completed if they were still pissed off at us.

My fear too. We'll lose Ford before the qualifier (or pointedly not play him), then scramble for a few last minute European and South American nonentities when we got knocked out and go into the Uefa

In short:
a) thats a crazy fee in the circumstance of a relegated player at a club strapped for cash.
b) its an english player premium no?
c) it just shows where the game has gone now.... utterly mad. and thats not evertons fault
Everton have plenty of homegrown players, shouldn't have been paying a premium, should have offered Sunderland a bigger sell on percentage instead

I think he'll be an excellent keeper and he's really impressed me when i've seen him play.
Not sure whether i'd pay the fee myself on his potential but i prefer this fee for pickford than i did at the time when City bought Stones and Sterling.
I think he could go onto be world class.
If he does he'll move to a big club for a slightly larger fee than what Everton just paid
