Buying alot of expensive ready made players who will last 3 years, in a short space of time at the expense of nurturing and encouraging academy talent is Cheque book management.
You can head down the Chavski and Citeh route and just buy the title. But I thought United had a reputation of producing local and British footballers. Obviously that retired at the same time as Ferguson.
