Slightly disagree, you don't necessarily need 2 people doing the hard work for him as he 'runs' around a lot (see his distance per game). Its that if theres any space in between, or if you had a prime yaya toure/coutinho in midfield he will get skinned in his position so you need strong players around him who can cover for him.

In the big matches he is a big plus in ball retention but a massive negative ala ozil because he cannot defend or play at a high pace which i think Jurgen requires.

I don't think it's all that likely really.

I personally think that he's destined for bigger things (no offence) than your lot. I also don't see FSG breaking your transfer record on a cb, they don't seem to spend a lot without sales do they? And don't see you selling anyone big this year.

For me City would be the best move*. Would be a great calming influence alongside Stones and that could be a partnership that develops for years imo. If I was Pep I'd be telling the board to do whatever it takes to get him there.

All of that said, I can simply never say never when it comes to you buying our players <laugh>

I never thought Mane would go to a non CL team tbh...

Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk has agreed to join Liverpool this summer if the club can secure Champions League football.

I take no offense at that. He is that good he could fit in at any cl qf side.

Imo 35mil is not all that much these days so... well get 30 for sakho and shovel 50 at you.

As you say however I would give us no more than 20% chance if other really big clubs are in.
