http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ll-ambitions-with-liverpool-says-former-coach Good news I guess, but I still think he'll go if Barca come calling
Iniesta isn't going anywhere in summer and lots of talk that Barca can't afford to buy big at the moment as they are busy renewing contracts for the front 3
The suggest he's going to be replaced means he's going somewhere (ie another club or the bench) but he's still arguably the most important player in the team, forging that link between midfield and front 3.
No it doesn't. It suggests Coutinho will replace Iniesta in the first team. Whether that's immediately or in time wasn't mentioned either btw. Never said Iniesta would leave. IE; forging that link... that's exactly why I think they'll go for Ford.
Scoring goals isn't the same as creating or linking up play. Benteke scored goals but wouldn't say he created many or made the killer ball. Don't get me wrong, I think Gini is brilliant and would personally start him over Can, but he's not anywhere near the same type of player as Lallana or even Coutinho if he played deeper. Just saying a midfield trio of Can, Hendo and Gini would be tough if we needed to break a team down. I know Firmino gets a lot of plaudits and rightly so this season, but I would say Lallana is almost as important in what he does right now. We need that midfield link - someone who's comfortable on the ball and links with the forwards seemlessly.
Last month, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed that Barcelona want much-maligned ex-Red Glen Johnson, and although that seems improbable, the Daily Mail also claims: "Johnson is on a list of possible January signings at Barcelona and the ex-England international will have the backing of his old LFC team-mate Luis Suarez". In his autobiography, Suarez reserved special praise for Johnson: "He [Johnson] impressed me hugely. He has a combination of physical strength, power and intelligence and technically he’s so good that despite being right footed he shoots better off of his left foot". At the age of 32, it'll be a massive surprise to see Johnson end up at Barca, but defensive deficiencies aside, good luck to him if he manages to secure such an amazing transfer. Only a select few get to represent Barca, and Johnson - reportedly on £60k-a-week - would be mad to turn down a move to the Nou Camp. Granted, he might warm the bench more often than not, but the chance of actually winning a couple of trophies has to be an attractive proposition.
Re iniesta talk. The guy is badly injured and getting old . it stands to reason they need a replacemnet. especially seeing the **** that they bought recently isnt up to it.
I think Gini would do well where Lallana is - it's the most attacking role of the three CM positions. I really wouldn't risk moving Lallana back into the front 3. Keep him where is. Injuries aside, I would love Luke Shaw. Really good player.
yeah. the minute that he moves up there he will play in front of sides and be no good. when Mane goes to ANC i really want to see if origi can deliver in that role. looking forward to the leeds game to see if he gets a go.
I think Origi could develop that versatility to play out wide and up front but I would still like us to bring in another option.
good offer. worthless player plus small cash. LFC will offer straight cash and really we will see where the players sits now. If he goes to them fine IMO. he's failed the first test which is wants to play for us.
I think our rep can, no one would have joined Leicester last year. I think if we can continue to be talked about the way we are under Klopp this year, players would be keen to be a part of this.
