The Football Association is expected to make an approach for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, 66, with a view to him becoming the new England boss. (Evening Standard)
The submitted plans for Annie Road development show very limited corporate space thus reducing revenue per seat.
How much would a ticket price increase offset this? ...
Sorry I disagree.Theres none included and all the public services under the road need to be moved too
The comment at the time was it was a marginal investment as a result which probably included increased prices.
Rumours were they were looking at squeezing in more seats than the quoted 58k to componsate
As i said however fsg are probably thinking **** this for an ungrateful shower.
If they'd walked out silently thats bad but to scream vitriolically greedy bastards at them probably will never be forgotten
Just early ground work imo. Setting the seed prior to development, they can then refer to this moment when they end up putting ticket prices up later.

Sorry I disagree.
The fans who walked out are ones who pay the entrance fee to see the club. If they feel they was taking the piss they have every right to voice their opinion.
Most watch Liverpool on sky,BT sport, links etc these people pay to enter the ground.
If the owners don't like that and are reluctant to take club forward maybe they should sell up not fecking sulk.
Thats fair enough but my opinion is not that they were wrong... just that is was highly insulting to scream greedy bastards at the guys who took the club before it ended up in administration, enabled it to actually buy suarez as a result, got the club back on a decent financial footing and put a 115million interest free loan in place to enable the main stand.... Just a tiny wee bit churlish to scream greedy bastards.
Oh and hired klopp... backed klopp, put him in for the long haul.. backed every manager with money...

So they put in a £115 mill interest free loan to expand stand?Thats fair enough but my opinion is not that they were wrong... just that is was highly insulting to scream greedy bastards at the guys who took the club before it ended up in administration, enabled it to actually buy suarez as a result, got the club back on a decent financial footing and put a 115million interest free loan in place to enable the main stand.... Where has the TV money gone then?
Also they are business men and brought the club at rock bottom price.
Not saying everyone is ungrateful for what they have done for our club, but what have they done dif to what any other savy businessmen would have done?
Hiring klopp was just common sense.
As they brought the club cheap and value has more than doubled writing off £50 mill has probably been quite easy considering most windows we have spent net bugger all. Also the wage bill has dropped massively.the TV money is a nice excuse. They put the laon in place 2 years ago to start this porject. the club didn't need go to a bank. they pumped in cash to balance the books before that when we had to write of 50mil on that white elephant in stanley park.
We broke even on transfers too... so? We lost europe so thats revenue loss....
where's everton's tv money... where's west hams?
Let me just say savy businessmen might look like Gillett and hicks or massimo chellini...
So..... FSG have done ok by us. they have been utter amateurs on the pitch side and i have zero faith in what will happen the day klopp leaves but I am just not shocked to be hearing this about the anfield road end cos frankly... I'd have said hmmmmmm **** you all on that day... a walk out ok. I'd understand given there was months of consultations and ayre obviously ignored much of it but t scream greedy bastards at me and i'd have plugged the plug too.
No lads tbh i have been saying this ever since the protest
The letter they published showed how hurt they were.
10k walked out but more than that the game cost us europa spot and the crowd screamed greedy bastards at fsg as they did so.
Which was something i felt was going way to far and i believe they ended any anfield road end plans that day.
They have less than a year to put in detailed planning to council now.
I am doubting they will reading this.
Imo they know they can fill the seats but will not build while this insult remains in their minds
Judging by your comments that seems aimed at me.FSG are businessman who's first love is the RedSox...
Did they love LFC when they bought us? Unlikely, do they like (not love) us now, more than probable, have they made a few bad decisions, yes..
Did they apologies for those decisions, more often than not.
Have they listened to the Fans, I'd say yes, as much as most other clubs.
Have they backed their managers, yes
Have they delivered us Klopp, yes
Have they delivered us a lovely new Stand, yes
Have they made us stable on and off the pitch, yes
Are they in it for the long haul, looks like it
You lot think all that cost monopoly money? Some fans think they have a good given right to whinge and not see the big picture.
You want us to compete with the other big teams, then that will be a multiple-fold exercise.
1 - We need a good manager - Tick
2 - We need a strong, talented squad - One is being formed
3 - We need to increase our revenue - With good business deals, TV deal and stadium that's on its way to be a tick too
Next phase is to finish off the Annie Road end, continue to back the manager, all that costs money and not just money we get from the Telly!
In short, have FSG made mistakes, yes, do I want them out, HELL NO!
What they've done for my team is superb and if they've made a penny in profit along the way, then fair play..
Be careful what you wish for!
I wouldn't call it greedy as such, just stupid. I agree with the rest of your post, btw.No FSG's plans for ticket prices were ridiculous. They wanted to force a fixed percentage increase in revenue from all channels. They were completely ******ed in not taking into account the context of applying that to ticket prices means massive percentage increases for relatively poor fans, whereas the same savings could be achieved by "5 extra minutes of negotiating" with millionaire players, agents, and sponsors.
Financing a stand with increased ticket prices is also greedy. An investment is supposed to make you money over time, not day one. Unless of course once the new stadium is paid off the fans will be paid back the increase in tickets prices (plus interest) since they are effectively the ones investing in the stadium.

I said earlier that I think FSG have done a good job and I don't want them out, but they need to look hard at this.
It's not just them, it's a problem for football in general. There's only so far a fan base which is still mostly gleaned from the relatively poorer sections of society can support the lavish lifestyles of those at the top end. This isn't simply a matter of principle (who cares about principle theses days?) it's one of pragmatism - it just can't be done.
I hear the arguments that ticket receipts are a relatively small part of a club's income these days - if that is so, then why is it even an issue?
Get the money from elsewhere.
If football wants bums on seats it has to make sure the bums can afford it.
