The Chinese value the club as a whole at £1bn. But I think the minority stake will probably still cover FSG's initial investment. I suspect the Chinese will purchase a minority stake with the view of a full takeover in the future. Exciting times.
If FSG sells 30% of the club for £300mill then that means FSG is £300mill richer. It does not mean LFC has £300mill more. This doesn't benefit the club. It may actually make direct investment that much harder because FSG can't redirect assets to the club easily because they would have to convince Chinese to invest equally. If FSG owned 100% they could theoretically direct invest 100mill into Liverpool's coffers from another asset- doesnt matter to them just redistributing their wealth. If they only own 70% they're not going to just invest money into the club because that would be like giving the Chinese free money. I don't know why this is being painted as good news. Its not Liverpool getting the money the Chinese invest. The club wont have more money.
I think Jimmy is looking at the long term picture of the Chinese owning the club and being allegedly richer than fsg so will pump loads of money into the club. Don't see it myself. I can see them rejuvenating the area to build profile and gain revenue. But would the club see the rewards of this or just be used to raise profile of their other assets?
The Chinese own half of Europe already... they are randomly being every brazilian plater thry can cos some fool told them brazil are always the best. So they've bought players for mad valuations.
So who do we believe Warner the ever bright ceo Or a website. We've been told nobody is doing this deal.
I pointed out a similar thing with the Everton investment. Why would Moshiri put loads of money into the club to increase the value of Kenwright's shares? Tobes assured us EFC had #ambition but #thatwentwell
Pulis about to resign. Club gets him everyone he wanted and he is still going to pull the usual stunt.
Conpletely bizarre that. 1 day after window shuts and he's brought in 3-4 players including club record signing! only way would make sense is if none of players brought in were his players which can't believe.
Hal Robson-Kanu turned down 100k a week in China to sign for west brom. The he guy is very average championship forward... Scoring 1 good goal in Euros has made min into some kind of WC striker over there it seems.
Liverpool plan to follow up their interest in targets Mahmoud Dahoud, 20, and Christian Pulisic, 17, in future transfer windows after missing out on them this summer. (Liverpool Echo)
You're right - the Chinese won't be investing if they didn't think they would eventually take full control. And there's no guarantee that they will pump money into the club however President Xi said he wanted China to become a world power in football, and buying a club like Liverpool would certainly help their portfolio. FSG wouldn't have hired a top advisory firm if there were wasn't any legs in this.
That's ****ing useful for us now isn't it What a ridiculous statement Here's some more: Liverpool plan to follow up their interest in not conceding goals for days after having 90% possession in future matches after missing out on not conceding goals for days in most seasons Liverpool plan to follow up their interest in ever actually getting any better in future decades after missing out on getting better in most seasons
LFC being serious about Dahoud and planning to get him in the future because the club wouldn't sell now was already known
You shouldn't pontificate about issues you don't know anything about mate. Moshiri already has a written contract in place to buy all the remaining shares of Woods, Kenwright and Grantchester at an agreed price. Which they will trigger when they are comfortable with handing over full control. This will give him a 75% stake, with the remainder being owned by small shareholders. The stadium development is key to it.
We couldn't spend it! Witsel knocked us back, as did Sissoko (thank ****) we couldn't agree terms with Porto for Brahimi, Sunderland hung onto Kone and Gabbiadini fell through at the death due to Napoli missing out on Bony.
