Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper AS reported that Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen could be returning to the Premier League with Liverpool.
Vermaelen has made just seven league appearances for Barcelona since completing his move from Arsenal in 2014 as a result of a series of serious injuries.
Jurgen Klopp, however, could be willing to take a gamble on the 30-year-old as he looks to reinforce his defensive options.
Liverpool will face competition for the centre-back from Roma who have reportedly already made a firm 13m offer to Barcelona.

Another one that being going on so long its a joke. If roma want him and had bid he'd be gone.

If it takes 25mil just do it. We're paying 25mil for players we don't really need. A LB is a must. Just pay the money and sort it.

He's 26 - we'd get a good 4 years out of him.

Another agent stirring up interest. Vermalen was way down the pecking order last season, now he's even further, knows he going to get about 2 games this season but nobody wants to bid cause he's so injury prone.

Think they'll be more of this sort of story in the papers (for all Prem clubs) over the this month. Players and agents desperate to get a move, use a English club as bait, as all the money is in the Prem looks to Euro clubs that there maybe truth in a rumour, when in actual fact its BS. Like one of the hottest prospects in European football ending up a midtable team in blue. <whistle>

Hes like skertl.. first season all at sea. Attained a devent level as evertons standards slipped. A reserve sure but no more imo. Tobes can have hope in a new midfield emerging at goodison
