So Balotelli then

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36838416

Was reading that article, which whilst critical is still predicated on the idea that when Balotelli is interested he is quality - I don't think this is true at all ... he's utter garbage, all the time, but nonetheless the argument persists, based on two things he did about 5 years ago, since then he's done absolutely nothing to show he has even a modicum of talent or aptitude for the game

We want him out, but who will buy ? No big clubs in any of the European leagues will touch him as they are wise to what he is, but they are the only ones likely to be able to afford him. Balotelli's ego most probably means that he himself won't want to play at a lower league club who probably can't afford his transfer fee and wages anyway but potentially might like to sign him

So China then ... would he go to China ? Plenty of money sloshing around. The issue with the big clubs not wanting isn't there as the standard is lower and they need recognisable names in their league. But it's China. He's an awkward bastard but the money is huge

Wouldn't be surprised if we're still paying him come September

Why would he want to leave a massive club like LCFC

On a serious note, think of his CV (he is still a young player). Would it look better to say he was bought at £x amount and didn't make the grade so was sold shortly after at a loss or, he had an unhappy time at Liverpool and ran down his contract to achieve a move to.............

Agents are not stupid and will market their product in the best possible light.

The chinese tranfer window is closed.

Balotelli is staying.

He is the gift that transfer committee keeps giving as another 4.5mil will piss down that drain. At least we can say half went to tax and we support the economy.

Atletico Madrid’s frustrating pursuit of Diego Costa has seen them switch their attention to Liverpool striker Divock Origi, according to Bleacher Report.
Last season’s Champions League finalists have struggled with their attempts to bring Costa back to the Vicente Calderon, with club president Enrique Cerezo forced to distance Atleti from a reunion with the Spaniard.
It is understood Origi is one of a number of targets shortlisted by boss Diego Simeone, who feels the Belgium international could fit into Atletico’s playing style.
Jurgen Klopp, however, is understood to be reluctant to part with the 21-year-old and would only consider selling for a high price.

80mil is the fee. <ok>

Seriously this is a big load... atletico have made their club on brilliant scouting ever since torres left its been one gem after another theyve sold and got better and better.

If theyve run outvof road and are resorting to trying to buy guys like torres and known talents like origi then they are up **** creek.

Thing is...I've heard he's very good, but when I've watched him, he hasn't done much other than good. I haven't seen any of his greatness set the world alight.

For price tags like that you wanna be buying a player making headlines through their football. When Messi, Ronaldo or Suarez do something special you hear about it on social media or the sports section on online papers etc. It's always been like that...Ibrahimovic's trick shots, Lewondowski's 5 goals, Bale's pace, Beckham's crosses, Zidane being Zidane, Ronaldinho being Ronaldinho, original Ronaldo.... list goes on. These players bring in extra income through merchandise and shirt sales, people not into football know who they are.

Pogba is very good. But so were Di Maria and Falcao.

I thibk juve actually know they have him where they want him and can rest easy.

If he stays another year they can sell just the same next year.

If they sell they have no release and can charge what they like if they can get it.

I really think they dont mind either way. I do think the morata deal stung them though and are sore with real.

oh i so wish that was true but do you really believe that
surely some sports lawyer/accountant has managed to come up with a tax dodge so he ends up paying the same amount of tax as you or me.

no i don't really <laugh>

I'd hope HMRC would be able to collect at source but i would suspect each player is a limited company that does business with the club and bascially image rights and all that get involved.
