Jimmy, Flanno is OK defensively, not great but ok.

However, Moreno ... No comment <whistle>

Either way we need the following -

New LB
New CB
New Keeper
New CM
And a winger

Maybe a new forward if Benteke goes.

I can't see all that those coming in in one window.

not the right ones anyway

our team might have looked like this next august

Karius
Clyne Tah Matip Hector
can Zeilinski
firmino Gotze coutinho
Origi

I think at this point however.... that set of 3 no 10s looks well in doubt. Zeilinki and can looks in doubt and maybe that back line might be assembled.

Lol I think Flanno is better defensively as LB than RB. Either way - he shouldn't be in the squad.

Agree with your list - I think we'll sell Benteke and Mario and I don't think we'll replace them.

Klopp plays with 1 up top - we have Sturridge, Origi and Ings, with Firmino and potentially Gotze who can play False 9.

I think he'll add 2 more attacking mids (Gotze plus one pacey wide man) and we have markovic coming back.

Buzzing for the summer!!

No pace in that team - we badly need a pacey wide man in that trio behind the striker.

And that midfield pairing doesn't give me confidence - I think Zielinski is a solid midfielder but he's better suited to a midfield 3. We have been linked with Geis who would be ideal.

yeah but who do we get?

I agree theres not real pace, lallana out, firmino hasn't real pace so if gotze comes he ends up wide.

coutinho for me is under big threat here.

I see a lot of mention over a new striker, not sure we need one even with Benteke gone. Keeping them fit is the issue, Keep Sturridge fit and he's a first choice and that means Ings and Origi are 2nd and 3rd choice, with Firmino as backup backup. Thats 4 first team players who can all play as a striker in a formation that usually only has 1. (also potential youth)

Plenty of other area need attention before striker. Defence needs a whole new rebuild, Midfield needs players with more drive and there is a desperate need for a much better goalkeeper.
Keep a lead in games has been more of a problem this season, sort that out first.

Adding goals from midfield would be good.

Defence isn't so bad if Flanno and Gomez return from injury well. Matip plus another (for Sakho) plus a 1XIGK.

Sturridge number one choice? Don't think so. Last night was typical, got his goal and did absolutely nothing else. No pace and no effort. I would put money on him not leading the line next year and I hope he doesn't either. He only started by default that Origi has been injured.

Not the best service though. We looked like Man Utd at times, sideways or hoof.

Really harsh - he and the other attackers didn't get much service. All stems from the inability to play out from the back and a non existent midfield.

54% a new team. But much imo but they could be gradually integrated.

what the point in ending up 8th again though?

We know for one that matip is coming. we think mingolet and karius will fight for a place. thats good. but we know that CM area and LB areas are disasters so we have to change no?

If we had six new first teamers starting every game immediately we would have a poor first half season whilst they adjust and settle.

As I said, six new players is fine so long as they are gradually integrated.

Why would you assume that ...?

Starting with the same 6 **** players means we won't improve and we'll continue to be ****.

Depends on many things... one game a week and league cup up to christmas so theres plenty of time. plus a full preseason. I genuinely thinkg we will start with at least 4 new players in first team. theres no real point starting season slowly. we need 8 points out of 12 so preseason and intensity is vital.

I'd want all 4 to arrive before preseason starts.

Not for me... shako won;t be back

So its GK, RCB, LCB, LB (thats 4 at the back right there) Matip is one. CM deffo,, maybe an RW, maybe and LW but with pace. thats 6 or 7.

For me we've got strikers, there no point debating can or firmino, rogers got sacked primarally for the being **** and klopp was hired apparently cos he could get more out of them.
Clyne has proved he's up for a fight.

But at best Lovern, henderson coutinho/lallan.. bench players.
