If you look at our squad we have a very large and some would say good squad already.
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-fulham/startseite/verein/931

I suspect if Silva wants to bring in some of his own players, the club may well have to shed a few before deadline day. Which players would you let go ?

    Rumours so far have been
Harrison Reed to Leeds, which if definitely not what is wanted by most fans as he is part of the spine.
Antonee Robinson to Man City as he seems to have a £10m clause in his contract if he is not a Premier player.
Tosin Adarabioyo to Arsenal or Newcastle, again not a player I'd want to lose.
Bobby DC Reid to Aston Villa, not sure BDCR is a very versatile player, ie a good squad player but may be his wages are too high.

One big problem we may have is, our injury prone players, do we trust them to see a season out ?
Mawson, Sessegnon, Fossey, Kongolo, Cairney, Onomah, may be even Hector.

It's all links away from the club at the moment, with the only rumoured ins being recycled transfer stories from the past 4 transfer windows (Osayi-Samuel, Harry Wilson).

In terms of outs I would not have a problem with: Christie (we have Tete & Sessegnon), Le Marchand & Seri (just not worth keeping, particularly as their fees should be fully amortised this year anyway), Fabri & Kamara (not good enough) and Anguissa (I'd love to keep him, but I think we are better off selling at this point).

I am hoping we see plenty of Carvalho & Stansfield next season, as well as a return to the fold of players like Mitrovic & Bryan.

Just seen Wolves interested in Robinson, which would make more sense.
Also seen Silva likes Watfords Will Hughes, might make sense if we lose Angussia or Seri cheaply.

The Club is delighted to announce the signings of Harry Wilson and Paulo Gazzaniga.

Wilson signs from Liverpool on a deal that could see the player remain at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2026.

Gazzaniga joins on a two-year deal, following the expiry of his Tottenham Hotspur contract last month, keeping him with the Club until the summer of 2023.

Stef Jo left to go to QPR, £660k I hear.

Wilson could be a good signing, he has a past history of assists and freekick specialist. We need more goals from midfield.
Rodak was missing from the friendly with Southampton (1-1), wonder if it was an injury ? Gazzaniga on a free is good business since Bettinelli seems to have not signed a new contract and although Fabri played against Saints reports say he is off on loan or a deal. Seeing Gazzaniga play at Spurs doesn't fill me as being on the same level as a top keeper.
Shame on the Stef Jo sale, did sterling work for us, and think if you motivate him properly, he can still do a job.

Interesting take on The Fulham Focus podcast about FFP, that we are sailing close to the wind, but should get away with it this season, but if we don't get up, will need a fire sale to comply the following season.
A lot of the deals we take this transfer window will be effected by our poor FFP leverage. So the Wilson deal is spread over a 4 year period to comply. But some are saying this season is on a loan status with first payments starting next season ?!!

A strong rumour "Matt Grimes is set to undergo a medical with Fulham in the coming days ahead of his move from Swansea City.
Captain for the Swans last season, a good asset if it pans out, I believe.

All gone a bit quiet lately
It would seem 2 transfer rumours have stooled a bit lately. The Matt Grimes one from Swansea and the Muniz from Brazilian Flamengo (his price seems to go up daily, it started at £4m then £6m now £7.8m) .
Aris Salonica have enquired about AK47
Valencia are after Anguissa on loan but rejected
Seri no takers yet - Silva may have plans for him !!!

Muniz looks to be a go'er, documents being exchanged and a sell on clause of 25% in place.
I hear Grimes has Covid, and is holding up the process.

    Bruno Paz
A defensive midfielder, the 23-year-old is out of the picture at Sporting and the Lisbon club are willing to let him go. According to Record, Fulham will make an offer for the player ‘at the beginning of the week’, and an interesting deal could be agreed.

Fulham are said to be trying to convince Sporting to let Bruno Paz leave on a free transfer. Sporting could allow that, but there’s conditions.
The Lions would want a buyback clause of €2.5m, and have a percentage of a future sale.
Fulham will likely be against inserting a buyback clause at such a low amount, yet they would be getting the signing for free.

Paz was a highly-rated Portuguese youth prospect who was part of the under-19 squad that finished runners up to England in the 2017 European Championship in Georgia. He has previously been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest and Reading, operates at right back or on the right side of midfield, his Sporting career has been disrupted by a succession of untimely injuries and has only just started to play again for Sporting 'B' team.

It seems like the deal for Muniz is imminent, Marco was asking if it was now official during his post match interview on Sky.

    Muniz Joins Fulham
    By Fulham FC

Fulham Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Rodrigo Muniz from Flamengo for an undisclosed fee.

The exciting young striker has signed a five-year deal, with the Club holding an option to extend by a further year.

After finalising the deal, Muniz said: “I am pleased about this new challenge. I've always dreamed of playing in Europe, in a league like the Championship, and I'm very motivated to do a great job.

“Fulham is a very important club in England with much history. They presented me with an excellent proposal and a career project that was fundamental in my decision.

“Fulham is a traditional club in England, over 140 years old, and had great players who made their careers in different teams worldwide. It has a sensational structure and a passionate crowd.

“Marco Silva is a great coach, young and with great potential. He likes to work with young athletes, and I know that I will evolve a lot with him daily, together with my teammates.

“I hope to learn a lot from him, his staff, and my teammates as well.”

Tony Khan added: “I’m very happy to welcome Rodrigo Muniz to the Fulham family, he’s an exciting young player with great potential and attributes that make him capable of scoring a variety of goals.

“Rodrigo will strengthen our squad, and there was strong competition against other clubs that were interested in signing him in this window, so I’m delighted that he’s joining us now as we continue working to earn promotion this season.

    “Come on Fulham!”

With his off-the-ball movement and ability to score all types of goals, the 20-year-old gained admirers from a host of clubs across Europe, but has chosen Craven Cottage as the ideal location to continue his football journey.

He came through the youth system at Desportivo Brasil, but was snapped up by Flamengo and subsequently went on to help them enjoy one of the most prosperous periods in their history, as they won the top-flight in both 2019 and 2020.

Muniz had enjoyed a good 2021 campaign for Flamengo to date, scoring three Série A goals having started the same number of matches.

He’s also netted for Flamengo across two cup competitions this season.

Last year, Muniz spent a month on loan at fellow top-flight side Coritiba, where he scored once in three starts.

I've watched the videos of Muniz, he seems to have good movement and ability to turn players, but I've not seen what all the fuss is about with fans talking as if he is a new Saha. Let's hope Silva can make him that type of player (ala Tigana).
Fulham defender Maxime Le Marchand (31) is close to joining Strasbourg, according to French papers.
Reports say Christie may now not leave for Nottingham Forest because of the Tete injury, but he wasn't in the side against Birmingham in the cup !!! so wait and see.
Fossey was going out on loan but he and Christie played for the U23's in a 3-0 win against WBA.

Papers are saying Fulham may loan Phil Jones from Man Utd. I suspect The Premier League clubs are now starting to put out lists of players up for loan because of the Transfer deadline is close.

Great news today, Mitro has signed a new 5 year contract to stay at Craven Cottage, his home!
Le Marchand has moved on, he served us well, especially in the Championship.
What is good news is that we haven't lost any key players as yet, despite many rumours. Let's hope it stays that way, we currently have a brilliant squad and lots of competition.
