If Doughty stays and other youngsters can be allowed to develop at normal pace the squad should more than hold its own. JW and JFC have to fight for playing time so should improve otherwise expect to see them shipped out in January if contracts are not cancelled before then Suddenly it is possible to be a bit optimistic.
Given the wage cap, it's probably as good as we can seriously hope for so far. There may well be better players we could buy, but whether they Fancy playing league 1 football for 2000 pounds a week is another question, Really need a decent striker asap though.
The noises about Alfie, including from Rich Cawley, are not optimistic. I didn’t know that Doughty and Dillon Phillips share the same agent.
We all know how greedy and immoral these scumbags are so hopefully the salary cap hits them hard , I won’t hold my breath though
If Dillon doesn’t get his move this week he will be sitting on his backside for the next few months at least. What a waste, especially at this stage of his career.
I believe Football Agents are very much like Estate Agents .... once you are signed up it is very difficult to leave!
Terms of a transfer worth around £15m have been agreed between Huddersfield and WBA and Grant will have a medical on Thursday. Clubs have been in talks since late 1986 (feels like it anyway). I think we have a 15 per cent sell on clause.
Fat lot of good it does us. we can't spend it. Unless we get out of this division the vultures will be circling at Sparrows Lane every game.
Isn't it heartwarming though, to know that Paul Elliott, Matt Southall or other scum like them are not going to get their mitts anywhere near it.
I've been really disappointed with him. He's never shown anything in a Charlton shirt that I can remember. Never once produced a moment of magic that turned a game. Never once even put himself in the frame for MOTM. Been completely ordinary, even invisible. And he had a reputation as a player who could make a difference from time to time.
