Do you remember when we stood for Something? When we were proud and optimistic? :'(

True.... although I think I’d rather see Hoj or Rom go before JWP....

Hojbjerg is probably our best midfielder*. No way would I let him go anywhere.

*Lemina would be if he sorted his head out and was more consistent

When was that? I've always stood for the National Anthem and when the crowd sings "If you love the Saints stand up". I am not sure what else I have stood for.

Please no. We let Morgan go and I believe this guy is much better than Morgan.

Les Reed, Ralph Krueger, and Katharina Liebherr turned Markus’ sparkling legacy into mediocrity. Jisheng Gao is well on the way to making us a laughing stock.

Yeah. Vegetarian sausages annoy me. A sausage is made from meat. I'd be happier if they described it as 'a slither of soya, shaped like how sausages look'.

Then again, I admit that just aint catchty.

I smell bullshit on the JWP to Burnley.

I have been known to be wrong though. 1983 I think.

It seems a long time ago. Ambition seems to have gone out of the window too.

The main thing that is annoying is not ambition, or lack of. It is not who we have signed as they all address areas we needed players. It is not so much the inabilitiy to move on a lot of the players we wanted to. It is the fact that we again haven't addressed all the issues in the squad, despite having a **** ton of money somewhere. You could say the reason for this is a combination of the above but the bottom line is we should have loads of money so signing another 1 or 2 attacking players shouldn't be a problem regardless

Much as I like Long it wouldn't take a 25m player to replace him....

So what's the consensus of selling JWP for £15m and buying a Striker for £15m today?

Weaken a already average midfield so a striker gets even less service isn't a good thing

It would have to have a tactical reason. If it was because we are bypassing the midfield and want to lump it forward to a target man then I can understand it.

But since there's no chance of us bringing in a replacement in just a few hours so I can't see it happening.

Agreed in terms of skill, but as Rom or Hoj had been here less time, people might be more accepting of one of them going that JWP.

Whilst I agree he’s not 100% home grown and hasn’t developed at the rate we are all wanting him to (for a variety of reasons), I genuinely would feel despair at thinking selling JWP was a good way forward.

We need a manager and a system to have belief and give him the capacity to thrive before we cast him aside.
