This is from April I think so not completely up to date, but the discussion is about the last few seasons so it's still relevant. On gross spending we're 8th out of the 14 the (at that point) ever-present clubs in the Premier League since June 2014 and on net spend (which I would argue is far more relevant because it reflects the importance of the players the club has sold as well as those signed) we are bottom by some distance.

That's a hell of a profit to make in 3 and a half years.

Take out Spurs and Liverpool, as members of the big six, and the three sides who are left directly above us were all relegated last season.

I don't believe that is a coincidence. Throw us in there, and you have last season's bottom four.

Where's the rest of the league in that table?

Net spend is always a little skewed as most of the big teams will bring in a fair amount from selling players they don't need just because they are a big team. See Liverpool selling Ward for £12m and supposedly getting £20m+ for Ings and not having to replace those players specifically. But yes for us it is relevant as we sell our better players who need replacing and we have been pretty **** at that in the last few years.

Regarding Hughes' comments about no movement I am not particularly surprised on the ins front, but I'm sure we are still a couple of players over the 25 man squad limit so would be surprised if they weren't a few out the door

A lot of that money was paid back to Kat Liebherr for her personal loan to finish Staplewood, but we have been debt free since the Summer of last year as far as i'm aware.
