My friends and I have been debating the same question, we've been goal shy all season and our main striker will get you goals but is injury prone, slow doesn't really intimidate defenders anymore, so this is an area we have to get right?

Carrillo probably hasn't been given a fair chance and Gabbiadini could be good in the right setup. But what does that really get us?

Quite frankly, we do not have players (other than perhaps Bertrand) who can consistently deliver quality crosses into the box, nor do we have the creative midfield options that can thread passes into people's feet.

We do not have the money or stature to get well-rounded, multi-threat players at several different positions. So, I think we're going to have to pick some kind of preferred attacking option and rejigger both our midfield and our forwards around it. Which is really what we've needed to do for 2 or 3 seasons now. If that means selling off Gabbiadini or Carrillo then that's fine.

We do have Sims as an in-house option who could possibly transform the look of our attack. I also think Lemina might be able to play a more advanced role and act as a playmaker while also being very useful in holding up play and stopping counters before they develop but that remains to be seen. He has tons of talent and potential but who knows if he will realize it?

The only field position I feel good about is our defensive-y midfield. And our fullbacks are maybe not great but at least pretty good if Bertrand and Cedric both stay. Everywhere needs at least one starter to be brought in better than what we have.

I wouldn't be against signing him. But I wouldn't see him as our lead CB. More of a solid partner, no.2. So I would still want us to go out and sign that top level CB - one who the big boys will sign from us within two years - and in that instance, I'm not sure if the expense on Gibson would be worth it. We have money, yes, but we're not Man City.

So if we are looking at four new guys, do they include a new LB and RB?

I’d hope they are additional to the four...

Judging by the latest Jeremy Wilson article if would seem they would be in for a lb/rb if the players were sold.

Looking to add four players to the group.

    GK, CB, AM, ST.

If players we would be reluctant to see depart do so - (Ryan, Cedric) - then signings there could well happen too.

I should add that I am expecting Fraser to go, but that wouldn't be an unexpected departure for anyone, AFAIK.

I hope either the AM or ST has some pace.

Hopefully, would free up some wages.

They would let the player leave if a substantial bid came in and the player wanted to leave. Surely from point we would need to replace them, adding to our 3/4 players in. Well that is how I read it anyway.

Sometimes but he usually plays wide. He would be the AM, we need someone else up there.
