If yr happy with the running of the club in last few years then that's up to you think yr in the minority! Relegation a certainty me thinks!
From the Daily Mail, therefore treat with even more caution than is normal for transfer rumours: "Teenage defender Jake Clarke-Salter, who spent last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, has signed a new four-year deal at Chelsea. A host of Championship clubs have been vying to take 19-year-old Clarke-Salter on loan for the new season. They include Norwich, Queen’s Park Rangers, Preston, Leeds and Hull. "
It hasn't been done well in the last few years but throwing money at each new season is not necessarily the answer (more a continuation of the bad approach). It is possible to have ambition that runs to more than the next 10 months and I think that's what we finally have. I don't think that relegation is a certainty but the board would definitely change things and loosen the purse strings if it became a realistic possibility.
If their not gonna spend any money on players then maybe they cd give something bk to the fans but won't hold my breath!!
All the debt that was incurred over the last few years spending money on players (presumably with your approval) has been written off by the owners. That's not good enough for you though it seems, you actually want them to pay you to moan.
Fill your boots then. I choose not to bet on us loosing or going down. For the record I'm not that optimistic but think we will be OK.
It's a simple equation, virtually the same squad that was in a nosedive at the end of last season, you don't need to be Einstein to work this one out...
All our problems are over, we have beaten Peterborough 4-2 and Mackie scored problem solved Holloway is a genius
I am so relaxed about this transfer window simply because my expectations for the coming season are at ground zero. We are doing what the vast majority on this board have been hankering after for years which is not to spend stupid money on poor signings, in fact we aren't spending anything at all. I would like to think there are deals being brokered behind the scenes for decent quality players at reasonable fees. If not, league one is not all bad!
Throwing money at it every season isn't the answer but throwing no money at it isn't either. Every team depending on their ambitions will spend accordingly to attempt to match their ambitions. Our squad is poor and finished just above relegation. Do we invest to try stay out of that mix or do we not and try fight it again. Personally I wouldn't trust Holloway to spend a fiver so for me it will be a depressing season.
Tone says we have a 'stable squad', which implies little change. But even the greatest squads freshen things up with 2 to 3 new faces every season. Mind you, what's the point? We can't afford anyone better than who we have got (and I don't blame the owners for this, they gambled and lost, would be huge mugs to do it again) unless we fluke an unknown kid signing. So I have no expectations on signings, even if we make some. I just hope we compete properly and the average age of the squad keeps the positive trend downwards, and youngsters get the chance to play and aren't demoralised by results/the fans getting on their backs at the first mistake.
The last person to regularly use the term 'stable' ended up with a large portion of egg on her face. TF is a consummate expert at placing his foot squarely in his mouth, the portents are not good...
If we believe we can't improve in 2 or 3 places then we are well and truly f*#cked - unless the Feng Shui master-stroke saves us!! Obviously good practice for the future playing P'boro. That all said I would be completely amazed and staggered if we do not bring in new players seeing how we are shopping out players. Other clubs are already on 3-5 new players.
The month before the poor run at the end of last season we were unstoppable The month before that we were **** If we carry on like that we will finish mid table
With our team of nobodies, smart money would have us guaranteed of not getting relegated by employing Woy Hodgson as manager. Woy is the 'Seinfeld' of all managers. He achieves nothing. We won't get promoted, we won't get relegated, we'll just sit mid table and do nothing. I'll settle for that. Nothing l tell you! please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
