Tommie Hoban... a young big classy CD from Watford....apparently impressed at Blackburn last season
This rumour has legs....as it comes from Watford.

I seem to have this pessimism about signing players who have played with relegated sides. Hope this one moves me to optimism if it's going to happen.

Seems like a nice spot for some R&R - didn't know there was a Lagos in Portugal.

My brother-in-law is Portuguese and has property in Lagos (so **** knows why he's settled.on the West coast of Scotland) - it's a lovely town, quite big with a nice marina too. Beaches are nice and clean, restaurants serve great food too - doesn't really cater for your bog-standard Brit abroad (Albufera, about 30 mins away is the place to go if you want a full English in the mornings, and a roast on a Sunday!). Heading back there later in the year....

Yes the Marina is lovely. We stayed along the coast a bit near Luz, where Madeline McCann was taken the following year.
The place I really love on the Algarve is Carviero.

We stayed in the same block and only realised about a week in. Once we did realise, we couldn't really understand how they could leave their kids asleep there while they went to dinner because it is a 3 minute walk in the dark to the pool side restaurant where they used to eat with their friends on holiday. That too me was a bit too far. The entrance to the apartments is at the back of the resort and very, very quiet at night.

When my son was little, we used to take him with us everywhere. If it meant a few late nights for him and a few early ones for us, that was a price worth paying. As a choice it was always a no brainer to do so rather than leaving him asleep in the apartment while we went off.

However the best child friendly resort we went to during that period was Tolon in Greece. Families used to gather each night at a tavern on the beach called the Romvi) and even little children could wade up to 100 metres into the sea and still find that the water was below their waist. We went three years running and met up with the same families each year.

Yes I agree mate. We used to take ours in a pushchair, they would eventually fall asleep but you knew they were safely with you.
