At both Huddersfield and Norwich, Webber hasn't had to deal with an immediate crisis. He's done his best work with time to build, and he wouldn't have that at Southampton. Whoever comes in now will have a mandate to survive at all costs, then they can start to build in the summer. If Webber loses that gamble, his career takes a hit. In contrast, get Norwich to at least the play-offs and his stock rises. Realistically, his next jump should be to an Everton-type club. He needs to be able to introduce his methods in the Premier League with a club unlikely to get relegated, and where he doesn't have to keep them in Europe.
Very true, but if he takes us from a complete restructuring to the PL he shows that he can do that twice. If he then keeps us there his stock rises further. Like you, I can't see him gambling his career on turning Southampton around. Time will tell.
Two really good posts and he has shown what he can do when given a ‘free hand’ – something that he probably wouldn’t happen at St Mary’s. As I said a few days ago, I expect both SW and DF to be at NCFC Xmas 2019.
In other news, Grant Hanley has signed a new contract until 2023. Back in training again in Tampa Bay, he should be available for Swansea, if only on the bench. At least that would allow Godfrey to shift to cover for Tettey. Full story here: norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/norwich-lose-another-coach-but-sign-key-player-until-2023/ In other good news ESPN reports: "Turkish giants Galatasaray could be set to agree a deal for Liverpool striker Divock Origi, instead of signing Teemu Pukki from Norwich."
We are being linked with a move for Angel Rangal, whose deal at QPR runs out in January. Why would we go for a 36 year old? Cannot see this happening. With the home grown rule would never make the match day squad, except in dire emergency.
Completely agree. Good player in his day, but why would we want another RB? Forest are welcome to him.

This one has been featured before, but Kieran Sadlier could be on the radar again. "Sadlier has been named in the PFAI Team of the Year after a total of 26 goals and 13 assists in 49 games in all competitions – making international headlines with a goal from inside his own penalty area." Though he currently plays in Ireland, he does qualify as a home grown player as his early career was in the UK. https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...ger-admits-he-could-move-to-england-1-5767139
We'll do well to get £1.5m for him as things stand. But it would be worth it just to get his wages off the payroll and his ego out of the club https://norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/norwich-striker-on-besiktas-radar/
Yes, it's a cut your losses situation like that of RvW. What we can't afford in the search for the consistency necessary to secure promotion is a hot or cold temperamental striker leading the attack. Pukki, Rhodes and Srbeny are all the complete opposite of that. Any thing we can get for Oliveira will be a bonus.
Besiktas are reported to be interested. Please!!…!!!. Anyone interested in Husband and McGovern please contact Carr ow Road immediately.
