I don't know why that opinion would be harsh. Smyth always puts a shift in but his end product is usually non existent. He scored 1 goal and got 3 or 4 assists last season. If he wasn't fast, he most likely wouldn't be a footballer. We need improvements on what we have had in the past, otherwise it's just more of the same. A bench player at best
He’s not nice he has a nasty streak and he’s got in trouble for it.It sounds harsh cos he seems a pleasant lad and always tries but you objective data is not great.
Those stats, however, don't reflect gaps that may open up because he's running at the defence.
We seem to have plenty of players who can play wide and he would be at the bottom of the list for me,
