SAM Field has extended his time with the club after signing a new contract on Friday (13th June).
The 27-year-old midfielder, who joined QPR initially on loan in February 2021, said: “I’m really delighted.

“The club have come to me and I really appreciate that. I value that a lot, and I value being here. It's been great for my development so I'm looking forward to repaying that.”

Field has made nearly 250 professional appearances since his debut for West Brom in the Premier League against Liverpool nine years ago – and he is keen to take on greater responsibility as he looks towards the future with Rangers.

“I want to step into more of a leadership role, which I think I'm doing, and I'm enjoying that,” he explained.

“I enjoy trying to help. I'm deemed an older player now, which is mental for me still, but it's nice to take that responsibility and try to help other lads and recognize it's not just about me, it's about everyone else.

“If I can get a couple more percent out of everyone else, that helps me, that helps the team, it helps everyone.”

The cool kids who spend their time demanding we sign swazzy ballers don’t rate him but this is essential news.
