It really depends on a lot of things.

At the end of the day, we currently have last season's League 1 top scorer under contract. That's pretty significant, imo. Surely, his 24 goals in all competitions last season would translate into something good in the Championship. Only 1 of his goals last season was a penalty. The rest from open play. And he's still only 23!

Let's say we get into the playoffs, partly because he scores something like 10-15 goals. What is that worth in money?

He's been under contract with us for a while now. We've played a part in developing him, including getting a loan move spot on. I'm not sure the teams sniffing around him are going to offer that much.

So, it all depends on a) how much is offered and b) what he could potentially do for us this season. How do you weigh those two things up?

Because, at the end of the day, it's all a gamble. Selling him is a gamble in the sense that what if he's the 15 or so goals striker we've been looking for and we're shipping him out instead? Without him, what if our top scoring striker only gets something like 5? Could we hope to sign someone as proven as him?

Maybe we should offer him a really good contract, secure his services for the next few years. He can't be on much with us currently. So, what if we offer him something on par with the best contracts at QPR and tell him he's very much in our vision for the season?

I don't think he will be here at the start of the season. Is what it is

I agree selling Kelman now would really stupid.

Would like to see Kelman and Kolli as front pairing.

If he can see we have players that can give him service, which I think we may now have, maybe that could persuade him.

    Offer him a new contract
If he says no then he's off for free anyway so might as well get some cash

How much do we think he's worth?

23 yrs old, League 1 top scorer (24 all competitions), 1 yr contract left.

I'd be annoyed if he went for a low amount. Gotta be worth more than 2m. Surely much more?

    I asked AI:

Based on recent transfer trends and comparable cases, a 23-year-old striker who was League One's top scorer with 24 goals, and had a standout FA Cup performance against a Premier League club, could command a transfer fee in the range of £3 million to £8 million, depending on several factors.

    Estimated Transfer Fee Range: £3M–£8M

    Key Influencing Factors:
    • Goal tally: 24 goals is a strong return, especially if spread across league and cup competitions.
    • Age: At 23, the player is entering peak development years, which boosts value.
    • FA Cup performance: A notable showing against a top Premier League side adds visibility and credibility.
    • Contract length: If the player has multiple years left on his contract, the selling club has more leverage.
    • Club stature and ambition: If the buying club is in the Championship or lower Premier League, they may pay more to secure a proven scorer.
    • Interest from multiple clubs: A bidding war can push the fee higher.

    *Source: Transfermarkt and club reports.

    Strategic Considerations for Clubs
    • Championship clubs may see this player as a promotion asset and pay £4–6M.
    • Premier League clubs might view him as a squad option or loan candidate, possibly pushing the fee to £7–8M if competition is fierce.
    • Sell-on clauses and performance-based add-ons (e.g. goals, appearances, promotion bonuses) are common in such deals.

Wrexham try to get free agent Christian Eriksen.

But Eriksen wants top tier football and to stay in Western Europe, begging the question what part of the third world is Wales in?

He did nothing for us, but what did we see in him when we bought him from Southend I think it was.

All sounds fantastic but he's only worth what somebody is willing to pay for him. Can't see it being more than 1m, infact I reckon it will be less. Nourry would drive him there himself for the minimum of 3m.

Wales is beyond the Western borders of the civilised world and the refuge of the English tribes that managed to escape the Vikings. The modern day Vikings ie the Danes must be absolutely terrified of them. Does that seem a plausible answer to your question? To back this up have you ever watched the bleak dramas that are based in North Wales - dark to say the least.

So. Can someone recap for me? With regard to Charles Kelman, nobody rated him on here or at the club including a number of managers who started him a few times. He then comes good at Orient. We get him back and everybody is raving about him and saying he should be an automatic starter as one of two forwards. Now if I read the mood correctly we want to get rid before the season starts. Apart from the rumours that he doesn't want to stay what's changed?
