We were probably only able to get Vale because he's currently injured, but I have a feeling he could prove to be a very good signing.
Some good analysis of his skillset here... https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb.../vale-lifted-on-qpr’s-risky-recruit-–-signing
CEO Christian Nourry has reviewed the work of the club during the January transfer window, which closed at 11pm last night (Monday). Ronnie Edwards and Yang Min-Hyeok joined the first-team on loan for the remainder of the season from Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. Harvey Vale completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea. Meanwhile, defender Esquerdinha, 18, and midfielder Archie O’Brien, 17, were added to our Development Squad. Jimmy Dunne was the subject of transfer speculation during the window, which Nourry has also addressed. First-team arrivals “We are pleased to welcome Ronnie and Min-Hyeok to our first-team ranks until the end of the season. “Owing to a heightened number of injuries in our defence, the signing of Ronnie early in the window was an important one and we have been pleased with how seamlessly he has settled into our environment. “Min-Hyeok adds another profile to our attack that is looking to make runs in-behind and provides competition in the right-wing position, although he can also play in other positions. “We thank Southampton and Tottenham for placing their faith in us to support the development of two major young talents. “The arrival of Harvey was an opportunity to bring in a high-potential homegrown player who we believe can be an asset for our first-team squad in the future. “During the club’s medical process, an MRI of Harvey’s lower back revealed a bone stress injury. This is becoming a more common injury in younger developing players. “Despite this we decided to push ahead with the deal as we believe in the player’s potential. This is an injury which will fully heal and cause no long-term issues. “The club will be using this rehabilitation period to work on Harvey’s physical development so he returns for the 2025/26 pre-season ready to have an impact.” Development Squad additions “We have added Esquerdinha and Archie to the Development Squad ranks in this window as we continue to look to cast our youth recruitment net beyond Category 1 and other Category 2 UK academies. “We believe that a diversity of experience and background in all of our teams, if managed correctly, can in time become one of our biggest strengths as a football club.” Jimmy Dunne “Jimmy was the subject of interest from another Championship club during the January transfer window. “This Championship club did not meet our valuation for Jimmy and therefore he remains with us. “Let me be clear: Jimmy Dunne loves QPR. Whilst the opportunity of moving to a team that was recently in the Premier League is an appetising prospect for any ambitious footballer, which is a characteristic that I want all of our players to have because it makes them better footballers, Jimmy showed a great understanding of our position. “He is concentrated now on putting all his efforts into every training session and every opportunity to play for the club that means so much to him.”
I have no doubt Jimmy loves the club but it’ll have to be one hell of a contract as the vultures will be circling, I believe they must be confident Jimmy will sign as rumours were around 2 mill for what is almost certainly a dead rubber of a rest of a season, that could have been reinvested in a player and 3 year contract.
QPR waiting for Akindileni signing to be rubber-stamped By David McIntyre 12/02/2025 QPR have agreed a deal for Aberdeen’s teenage defender Timothy Akindileni but might have to wait until the summer for the signing to be rubber-stamped. Rangers hoped to bring in Akindileni, 17, before the recent transfer deadline, but administration issues have delayed the signing. The club are therefore waiting to discover whether he must now wait until the end of the season to make the move to west London. Akindileni is a 6ft 4in left-sided centre-back who was signed by Aberdeen in 2023 after impressing during a trial. He will initially play for QPR’s development side.
QPR consider reviving winter interest in versatile Swedish forward James Ray ·19 February 2025 ·2 minute read QPR targeted IK Sirius forward Noah Milleskog in the winter and could make a new move in the summer, according to Fotboll Direkt. QPR were active in the winter transfer window after having a busy summer before the season’s start. The Rs embarked on a recruitment drive in the summer transfer window but with some gaps in the squad remaining and some new ones opening up, they moved to plug them when the chance arose at the start of the New Year. please log in to view this image Image courtesy of: ANDREW COULDRIDGE/REUTERS. However, not all players lined up will have materialised into new additions at Loftus Road. Some of those players could come back onto the radar at the end of this season. Now, reports in Sweden state that someone who may reappear on the QPR transfer radar is attacker Noah Milleskog. Fotboll Direkt states the Rs were alongside Swansea City and Dutch side FC Twente in eyeing the 22-year-old. No move came to fruition for Milleskog though and he ended up staying at the Allsvenskan side. QPR will consider reviving their interest in the versatile attacker though. Milleskog could make a move out of Sweden with his performances attracting attention from a range of clubs it seems. More on Milleskog Rumoured QPR target Milleskog came through the youth academy at Orebro SK, breaking into their first-team before a move to Djurgardens. He managed 11 goals and three assists in 46 games for Orebro but a short stint with his second club was ended by a move to Sirius last February. There, the forward has managed nine goals and four assists in 33 games across all competitions. He’s mainly operated as a winger, playing on either flank, but he has found joy in a role as a striker too. Room for new QPR attackers? please log in to view this image Image courtesy of: PETER CZIBORRA/REUTERS. There looks to be scope for new attacking additions at QPR looking ahead to the summer. Yang Min-hyeok is only in on loan, as is Koki Saito, though there could be scope for the latter staying permanently. If both depart though, Milleskog could be a great addition to consider on the wing. He could also offer cover and competition for the likes of Zan Celar, Michael Frey and Rayan Kolli at the top of the pitch. Time will tell if a move comes to fruition though with the Rs sure to have plenty of potential additions on the radar.
