Well, Hull have just got £3m from West Ham for Jelavic. Sunderland on the other hand have just spent £10m on L’pool’s Borini.
And while we’re speculating - Crystal Palace are keen on Charlie Austin; looks like Bournemouth will pay them £5m for Glen Murray; so that only leaves £10m for Gayle to make up the difference needed.
We'd need to sell McCormack to get Gayle. Given Norwich have brought in that striker, it's more likely that Ross will stay and we'll take Gary Hooper on loan.
Suggestions are that the story started from a fake twitter account. Like you COYW hope we don't sell him and anyway can't for the life of me believe we'd want to ahead of Bodurov.
I seem to recall we were linked with him a few years back. It'll be interesting to see what we missed out on.
How's about signing Jordan Rhodes at the last minute, we get a decent striker and at the same time take the best player from the team we are next up to play!

How's about Antonio of Forest, would be slightly cheaper than the other options and Forest are under a transfer embargo
Apparently they have made a bid for Burn which we've rejected. However 'talks' are still taking place.
Can only assume that Dan is not happy about potentially being down the pecking order and wants to play each week rather than hover on the bench.
According to Sky Sports Dan's not going anywhere. They are reporting,
"Kit Symons’ decision to end his chase for defensive reinforcements effectively dooms Sheffield United’s determined pursuit of Burn, which had been hotly tipped to finish successfully overnight. The Blades had an initial bid rejected by Fulham, who felt the offer fell well below their valuation of the 6ft 7in defender, and were preparing to return with a second offer."
Hooper looking less and less likely, Norwich late bid for Gayle unlikely to go through as no time to get a replacement meaning they may not let Hooper go!

I'm happy. Strengthened our defence which was our main weakness. Kept Emerson, Dembele, and LVC. McCormack better the devil you know. Earlier additions of Cairney, OHara and Pringle are quality.

Only position we didn't strengthen was our right wing. Still not convinced that Cairney or LVC are right wingers.

Everyone should be happy with the business done this window, including keeping a core of good players giving a lot of strength in depth.

All in all a very good window, I would have liked that striker to finish it off perfectly but never mind! The question is do McCormack, Smith, Dembele and Woodrow have 40 goals in them, will prob need them to if we want to be pushing for the play offs!!
