  1. Probably. But i don't think Jonas will be playing in the first 11 if we get some quality wingers in.

Jonas is a good impact player. His crossing is 99% poor but he has the ability to give defenders a torrid time when they are tired so I would leave him on the bench.

why I think we should forget Ireland (unless on another loan) and use the cash that would be spent on him on areas we need to strengthen, midfield not being an area that needs strengthening RW yes but the rest of midfield no.

  4. Yep, i still think he's a great player, but we need better and he should stay to keep numbers up.

To be honest, I think if Jose leaves, Jonas might not be far behind him. Was it Lazio who were reportedly offering £8m?

would be nice to see him here watched him a couple times looks a class act , also gervinho would be a good second striker/winger gives us a few more options if things aint working , also would be nice to have a mid of tiote jonas ireland gervinho benarfa nolan barton guthrie , 8 good solid mid players , and plenty options on the wings/mid/2ndstriker from those , nice bit of competition for places and plenty options from quality players , -imo- only guarenteed started who should play if is avail vs everyone is tiote but when hes banned injured after last few games id be happy for guthrie to step in and cover , if we do pick up sow and gervinho with a quality centre back aswell i really think we can push on next season aslong as all these players settle in well and gel with rest of the team , happy days!

Looks promising! If we get someone like Gervinho/Sow/Gameiro/Ba I really wouldn't be too picky which one... as we could easily still end up with someone like Cole or Lambert! If this is true then glad we're taking a leap in the RIGHT direction!

I made a point recently that Jonas will come into his own when Ben Arfa is back and we have players like Sow or Gameiro coming in, Jonas is often left with no alternative other than to hoof the ball into the middle or get dispossessed. If he has attacking players to play short passes to he'll really start to shine.

    Look at this...

    ------------Barton--------Tiote-------------
    Gervinho----------Ben Arfa------------Jonas
    ---------------------Sow-------------------

We've still got the likes of Barton in there to swing in the long balls when we need them but we've got less direct attacking players in there to play around defences rather than over them. If we need to pack the midfield and bombard the likes of Stoke or Blackburn we can rotate a little, like this...

    Gervinho----Barton----Tiote---Nolan/Ireland---Ben Arfa
    -----------------------Sow/Best------------------------

I think it would work a treat, Jonas definitely has a place in our team next season, as does Nolan, for the reasons above.

  12. Come on man i thought we all agreed we need someone that can cross on that left side. We need a better LW than Jonas. Jonas is a great player, but we need crosses on both sides.

tbh jonas will really benefit from someone with abit more movement upfront and better players around him , most of the time hes our only outlet and keeps the ball well and takes the pressure off , and when hes only got sholas amazing movement in the middle to cross too , think its abit early to write him off to play on the lw definately a good option out there

Why Two crossing wingers when the striker, e.g. Sow is better on the ground than the air! Would it not be better to play on the ground with a team/ formation like that...

Did you read what I said? What is your obsession with having someone hoofing long balls into the box all the time? Jonas plays best with short, fast passes and flowing football. Just look at how well he links up with Jose down the left. Problem is there's never anyone else for him to link up with so he hoofs it. If HBA and Ireland etc are there to support him you'll see a different side to Jonas. If we must play long balls then we have Barton to step up. Ben Arfa isn't going to be great in the air and neither would Gameiro if we got him so we should look to play to their strengths as well as Barton's.

  16. I did read what you said. Deliveries from the wingers will be vital if we sign the likes of SOW, as he's a beast in the air. I agree Jonas is a great player, but we only have ONE player in our midfield/attack that can cross consistantly, and that's Barton. We need quality deliveries into the box. I want us to play sharp, flowing, passing football, but we should also get players in that will deliver well also.

I'm not talking about ****ing long balls man, i'm talking about crosses into the box. You misunderstood me.

You dont have to float crosses in for a small technical striker though, through balls and low passes are what the likes of Sow/Gervinho can thrive off, not pumping crosses in all day.

  18. I know, but it helps if we have players of each kind and we cannot just rely on Barton for quality crosses/deliveries.

And we have Enrique, and to a lesser degree, Simpson who can both cross. Also Jonas isnt that bad at crossing, it's not like he cant do it, he just is a bit inconsistent as in Spain he never had to play a crossing game.
