Sorry to disagree but I’m sure that a Managers tactics do dictate the outcome of matches. Hodgson's consistently poor ones at a once mighty club showed not only how not to but how speed up its downfall. Dalglish is just showing that with a little lateral thinking what can be achieved when you mightn’t necessarily have the correct tools at hand. SB seems to be lost for ideas & is surely counting down the days to the end of the season in hope of being given another chance next season.
Hate to disagree with a "Kiwi",BC.Do you reall think, howerver that Guardiola's Managenment decision to play Mascherano at centre half or Puyol at left back dictated last nights outcome? Or was it simply that Barca have far better players than Real Madrid ,plus Mascherano and Puyol are also good cheaters? Mickey I agree Motivated is a far better word than "Happy". Back on topic.I would favour local talented players but at the end of the day not overconcerned about nationality.
I agree Cest but I would also like a bit of overseas flare mixed in. I feel our team lacks identity at the moment, partly due to the loanees and constant changing of the team.
Cest as always a good post, but found myself agreeing with Chappaz, he does give a **** about northeast football, and football in general, usually honest and well balanced, so have taken on board your points, and also his,,,,,,all food for thought.
I think I'm with the crew that say it's a matter of striking the right balance. I feel we do need one or two more players who will wear the hearts on their sleeves and sweat blood for the cause, that can carry the rest of the squad with them. However, we also need to find the blend that works, and that is where the manager and coaches come in.
