welcome to town sounds like a good siging ricketts seems to sign a lot of players on three year contracts , just remember how much dead wood we had when other managers have done that,
Left-footed centre back with a bit of pace is definitely what we need. Suspect either Waterfall or Beckles will be leaving. Goalkeepers and wing-backs plus another striker must be the priorities now. All credit to Ricketts for some promising signings so far.
i am not a fan of ricketts but he does deserve credit for some of the new sigings. two goalkeepers, another striker and an attacking midfielder.
I agree Zen that Ricketts did not seem to improve things by much when he came in last year. But surely with his own backroom staff installed and more players of his own choosing he should be able to do better this coming season. I would expect us to be in the top half of the table if he is a decent manager. As both Bolton and Bury are losing players by the day and both are likely to be deducted twelve points that should make avoiding relegation easier. Anyway, we have a well-run club with reasonable support and we should not be permanently (apart from one glorious season) skulking around the relegation zone in League 1.
12 games in should give us an idea of how the fitness has improved and what the new team are like ,it sounds as if he will continue with the formation he used last season. so let see how we shape up it will be his team ,his training methods and a whole pre season to pre pare so he cant have any excuses.
https://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2019/july/ryan-giles-joins-the-blue-amber-army/ Plays at left wing back but can play in other position. Pressure on Golborne and definitely on Ryan Haynes who might want to look elsewhere.
Joe Murphy, GK, 37, signs on a one year deal from Bury https://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2019/july/joe-murphy-signs-on/ He was in the league two player of the season squad, like a quick pass out, but can waver at floating crosses and dead balls.
Rumours that Ross McRorie, defensive midfielder, might be joining from Rangers. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sp...ortsmouth-shrewsbury-transfer-news-loan-deal/
Bristol City's goalkeeper Max O'Leary close to signing on loan. https://www.footballinsider247.com/...ity-player/amp/#click=https://t.co/CxzhwVTl8j
Donald Love signs from Sunderland on a two year deal. He is 24 and can play RB, RWB and CB. Looks like he hasn't had a great couple of years and hopefully he can kick in and get games here. https://www.shropshirestar.com/spor...fender-donald-love-signs-for-shrewsbury-town/ https://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2019/july/love-looking-forward-to-new-start-at-town/
https://www.shropshirestar.com/spor...wsbury-town-suffer-double-injury-blow-abroad/ Joe Murphy has fractured his foot which is now in a protective boot. Ollie Norburn has a knee injury and his knee is in a protective brace. Both will be out for the foreseeable and will need to see specialists on their return. so very disappointing we now need another keeper
