Maybe you need to look at the Senior Professional Development Coach for answers. Changes are in the wind is the word.
keeping them on the right track isn't lucky. its called great coaching/management. when you become good at it, you get a reputation for it and attract the better kids who want to progress as pro footballers. that's why ipswich and forest were so good at it back in the day and Crewe, Southampton and even Boro do well now.
maybe its time to stop kissing kb arse and face facts he is sub standard and the club needs a change without jobs for the boys, hes had a good run with it , ring the changes and move forward
You mean Ged McNamee Surely fella? Agree on KB though, think it could be about time they both got a little thank you for your efforts gift and send them packing. But Ged overseas the u21 & u18 and is responsible for the dozen of young players brought in this year, exotic players come from as far away as Ireland! What happened to us widening our development network? It just hasn't happened, this years intake reads similar to what we taking in 5 years ago.
Spot on, kids are not born professional footballers, they are born with a talent that needs to be recognised, encouraged, nurtured then developed into the finished article. For some reason Southampton, Ipswich, Burnley Middlesbrough, and Crewe get it right and we need to look at their set up.
It's also worth noting that clubs abroad do this even better, English teams could learn a lot from Ajax, several Dutch teams in fact, The Clairefontaine academy, Rennes, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon (Ryan Gauld just signed for them) and so on. We look so far behind really it's difficult to convince ourselves that the game was invented on these shores.
